tbh I've been to all of the QMJHL arenas and C200, until recently, was one of the better ones. I say until recently because a number of QMJHL teams got new arenas like Moncton, Gatineau, etc. and a 40 year old rink isn't going to compete with brand new. It just seems like any event that happens there, every possible corner is cut and the end product suffers. It's classic Cape Breton really. We want X, Y, and Z but we don't want to put in the money or work. It's too bad since that'll ultimately lead to you losing the team when people get frustrated and don't show up anymore. They're giving us no options. Arguably we don't have a team as it is. A real team we can appreciate and get behind. We have the results of poor ownership and mediocre management. We either support a terrible product and frustrate ourselves or we feel the brunt from ownership when they come crying that nobody is supporting the team and the long term is in question. Never is it about the results and how poorly our fans have been treated year over year. At this point there's actually an argument for the only way it ever works properly is for is to not exist for a little while and come back with an entire new concept. Entire new branding. Ownership. Management. And actually having them all follow through on their vision. At this point even if this group flipped a switch and turned it on....it would not trigger much in terms of turning fan interest around. Because so many have just tuned out whatever they're doing and saying.

Not every act is for every market. I'm a big music fan. Attend lots of live concerts. Especially classic rock. Styx doesnt move the needle for me. They're the type of band playing 1 act in each province for a reason. The few hundred people in each community who may love them can travel and see them. But that doesn't mean each community can support them for a live show. The Glorious Sons are a newer rock band getting a lot of good feedback. They are playing here in a couple of weeks time. They've reconfigured the venue once already due to a lack of ticket sales. Reality is that unless you're bringing in a mega headliner, its not selling in this region. What I would call "mid level" country and rock acts are barely cracking the 1000 tickets sold mark. But people like Adam Baldwin regularly sellout places like the HAT multiple times per year because the market for that smaller more intimate show is larger then seeing someone not that well known in the larger venue where atmosphere is sucked out if there's no people there. People will also complain when Bryan Adams is coming and mock the 80's rock but just announcing him sells 3000+ tickets and you get that big show feel every time. So I think not bringing in a Styx shouldnt shock anyone because they wouldnt sell here. And the reality is that unless you're getting something to push 3000+ on name recognition you probably aren't booking many shows in an arena like C200. Thats why the Savoy and the HAT have events 2-3x per week between now and Xmas and a Dave Sampson sells out the Fiddle for his 2 Xmas shows. You can't match the atmosphere.

I will say this that I believe Styx would have put a Fairly Big Crowd in C200 , not sure who is the Opening Act but usually all these Bands bring along an Up and Coming Band with them . I don't think they would have sold out the Savoy. I think you're overrating how much of a draw Styx is. Bryan Adams brings in a fairly big crowd. Doesnt sell out. I think you're at or under 1000 paying customers at C200 for a Styx show in 2023. I'll be curiously following their sales for the other shows in the region.

Careful with those sketchy websites. They're not real.
