What a game. Love the goal for Rousseau, really deserved it!! And I don’t think I need to mention Dumais. He is like a cheat code in a video game. If he got the puck during a power play expect the next pass to be a great chance or goal!

Holy crap. I couldn't care less about anything negative about this game. Dumais is here, and Rousseau scored a goal. Amazing.

The difference with Dumais coming back is the way he has mature he just lets the game come to him he is so calm everyone else is chasing it but Dumais the puck just finds him .

Pretty good game to catch!!! Some takes from this game:
Rouyn Noranda is the better team but we have Dumais and our goalie was the better goalie.
Watching Rousseau score was pretty cool and his 5 minute smile was even better.
Dumais absolutely controls the game when he has the puck, great vision, amazing patience and very deceptive shot.
Vidicek clearly benefited most from Dumais return. Poor Vidicek has so much to offer but he can’t carry a team because of his overall speed and strength. Cataford on the other hand has had a significant improvement this year in my eyes, and his stats may take off even further.
Kilfoil will be really good in time, his only real weakness is his physical strength. He’s weak along the boards and not great defensively. Sucks on the draw too…..I bet he corrects all these by putting muscle on over the next few years.
Levesque! Man what a pick! His stats will drop now that his PP time will drop but he is very fun to watch.
Fournier keeps improving with more confidence too, but I wish he had Levesque’s skates, it’s really all he lacks.
Peitczche is good along the boards and is a very smart passer but the second goal was on him. He went to support the forecheck behind Rouyn net and kind of stood there as his line mate lost the battle. That D sent a pass for a 2-1 and a goal. SOFT!
Panzetto looks like he has something but there is something bigger missing! He seems to be a mystery lol
Our defence is so solid, all 6 are above average in this league but we do lack that legit stud. I was hoping Furlong, Phillips or Schultz might take that leap but they haven’t. They are very good though.
Rousseau is so focused and solid. That’s it. Nice goal bro!!!
From Rouyn I’m so shocked that Carruthers is just an extra on that team.. I remember him playing minor and he was a bull. As he got older he was still a bull but people questioned his hockey IQ. He was drafted 3rd overall and they must have figured he was more than just a big strong guy with a heavy shot. He’s now 4 years into the league and has a whopping 20+ goals. Wonder if the moose can salvage his career and bring him home for half a year on tour third line. Not even sure what the cost would be at this point.

It means very little in the grand scheme of things as the rosters are far from the finished product, but important to note we've won all our matchups so far against what a lot of people assume would be the big contenders this year - Victo, Royun, Baie-Comeau.

Way way too early for this conversation but I still question the aspect of this team in the playoffs, to me it feels like a regular season team that could fall piece by piece in the playoffs, yet we still don’t have Crosby with Dumais in the lineup. All I want is a 20 year old forward addition and maybe an upgrade on Fournier. Clearly I have trust issues.
But in the meantime this has been some really fun hockey to watch so far this season, there’s something about this squad that’s more fun to watch from last years squad in my opinion, let’s win again against Val D’or!
I say there’s a 30% chance it’s Milner, we shall see. But I would bet on Rousseau going for another. Another game I mean not another goal. Lol

What many don’t know about Dumais & Vidicek is that they’ve been playing and training together since the age of 7 or 8. If you’ve ever watched them play 3vs3 together on a small ice you would be amazed. In my opinion, when the Moose drafted them together they got 2 of 3 best forwards in the draft with the best IQ. The other forward was Antonin Verreault.
Dumais has incredible vision and understands how to make the best possible play to score. Furthermore, his shot is so deceptive & accurate. Goalies never know if he’s passing or shooting! He should have been on that World Junior team last year.
Vidicek plays the 200 foot game better than most other centers in the league and thinks defense first but offensively he’s a facilitator and understands where to be positionally to give his line mates the best chance at scoring. However he needs help as he won’t over power you or beat you with speed or want to do it individually by himself.
Cataford is a great compliment to both those guys as he’s a mix of both. This is one of the reasons they dominated together last year to start the season.
Rousseau is just a fun guy to watch play. You can tell that all of his teammates just adore him by their reactions when he scored.
This teams core is just very special imo and I hope they go far this year and take the next step.
Go Moose Go!

Rouyn Noranda is the better team but we have Dumais and our goalie was the better goalie. This. It was a fun game, but beyond Rousseau, Dumais and scoring 3 PP goals, Rouyn carried most of the play. Right now, they're the better team. Halifax has the more talented core, but Rouyn is much deeper, especially up front. Cam has his work cut out for him to make this team a finished product. Rousseau and Dumais mask a lot of problems. This team needs 2 legit top 6 forwards. Fournier didn't have a good game. Some brutal turnovers. Levesque has been a great story, but his icetime and PP time will go down. And he'll wear down come Feb/Mar. There are always injuries. The potential is there, the main pieces are in place, but there is work left.

I think this game showed that the Mooseheads do need an upgrade on Fournier.

Funny fact: Rousseau has more goals than spencer metcalfe did as a moosehead 😂

What a return for Dumais, looked like a fun game to be at for Halifax fans!
I was honestly surprised that Huskies didn't play W. Rousseau. I think the game would have been really interesting if they had played him. He did not look like he was hurt playing the Islanders the night before.

Management in Rouyn-Noranda seems odd since the beginning of the season. You pay a 1st and a 2nd pick for a championships winning goaltender but you decide to play your backup against another contender? I'm pretty sure W.Rousseau wasn't happy about it last night.

Some quick thoughts from the game last night -
First off, it was highly entertaining, despite the frustrating moments.
As was mentioned, the Huskies outplayed us, and without Rousseau and Dumais the Mooseheads don't win that game.
Furlong had a few mistakes but he looked really good last night too, if he can play with that kind of confidence while cleaning up his game, he could yet make a legit #1 in this league.
The goalie goal was obviously amazing, I've never seen one in person and for it to happen right in front of my eyes, for my home team, that was an incredible moment I won't soon forget!
I will say tho, I'm INCREDIBLY frustrated by what happened after. That game should have ended 6-3, but like the game 6 of the finals last year, the team stopped playing after a huge moment. Luckily this time the stakes weren't as high, but you can't have that habit.
They put themselves on a self-imposed penalty kill, 30-40 seconds of only 4 guys on the ice which allowed RN to score the 6-4 goal. That's inexcusable. I know you're excited about Rooster's goal but how does NOT ONE PERSON on that bench notice you don't have 5 players out there? For 30+ seconds!? Furlong jumped over the boards just before the puck went in, but he was nowhere near the play when it went in.
I feel like I'm overreacting to a goal that, in the grand scheme of things doesn't matter... but I just wanted to point it out since nobody else did. That can't happen.
From R-N's side, I haven't gotten to see Verreault play much since he was drafted, but I definitely understand why he was so highly valued now. I expected the speed and skill, but the way he plays the game is something that's not talked about often, he's got some real sandpaper to his game, he's fearless and goes to the net, skates through guys if he has to. He's small, but he uses it to his advantage, twice last night he drew holding calls because guys just didn't know how to contain him, he drops his shoulder and its hard for a defenseman to stop him without taking a penalty. Good stuff.
Langlois looks good too. I could see significant progression since he was traded from the Eagles last season, he's more of a key piece for RN than he was for that deep Quebec blueline... but yea, he's very good as well.

I noticed on the scoreboard that they are saying Crosby is out for about a month so them not saying another month hopefully means a couple more weeks based on it being just over 2 weeks since his injury.
