Nearly puckdrop time for the second game of the weekend. Les Foreurs had a hot start to the season but have cooled off since.
Val-d'Or has won both of their previous visits to the Scotia Bank Center. They shouldn't be taken lightly.

Didn’t watch the game had to work but I’m glad it wasn’t a Dumais show with the goals, everyone chipping in, the line combos I thought the third line looking promising. Great win and well done Rooster. See you Wednesday!

Great game overall. Happy to see the whole team participating in goals. Really liked the Dumais, Levesque, Vidicek line!

What an incredible weekend , not to mention how close I was on both my score predictions the other day I said, and of course the first goalie goal in Mooseheads history.(Getting Dumais back and him getting 5 points) Anyone else notice how well this team is coached, and what a solid structure they have and one of the top defence cores(does;t hurt we have almost the etnire core back and there a year older), I think there only a few pieces away from being a contender(I mean there already considered a contender and to be doing this well this early in the Season). it will be interesting to see what happens Wed night vs Moncton. I was with my Dad tonight and he pointed out once the Moose got the lead in the third they just started playing the trap, and they are very well disciplined. Doesn't hurt we have the best goalie in the CHL, not too much to complain about these days in Moose Country, I'm going to enjoy it since we'll probably be rebuilding the next few seasons.
6-3 Halifax over Rouyn(6-4 Win) 5-2 Halifax ov Val'dor(5-1 Win)

Cataford leads the team with 16 points so far. Fournier is 5th in the league in goals with 7.
Ironically enough Bobby Orr leads the Q with 18 points, 4 of them being goals.
Wont take long for Dumais to get up there.
And Mathis Rousseau leads the CHL for a goalie with at least 7 games played. Currently at a 1.77GAA 0.942%

With a team like the Foreurs I try to keep an eye on the other side since they're probably sellers at Christmas... that said, I don't think there's anyone on that squad that would be a fit for the Mooseheads.
Their pest piece imo is Tomas Cibulka, but he's not really an upgrade on anyone on that Halifax Blueline, not a significant enough one.
Nathan Drapeau could also get some interest elsewhere at Christmas.
Gaudio and Turgeon don't move the needle as 20s, Pilote is pretty good but again, doesn't move the needle on D and the rest of their team is pretty young.
Frederic Potvin stood out because he's a big boy and solid as all hell... that said there's not a ton more than him being a big, strong body.
Anyway, tonight was kind of a dull afair compared to last night. Nice to see them pull out the win and see the team get offense from throughout the lineup.

Yeah there didn’t really seem like anyone that would be a great fit with the Moose from Vdo though I was impressed with Cibulka. He’d be a great pick up for someone, seemed like their entire game ran through him. I don’t think there’s going to be too many D that really would move the needle for Halifax and be worth the price for the potential impact. If Luneau were to return he may be the only guy really on that list. But the forwards from Vdo weren’t particularly interesting. The 20s are just ok. Potvin would bring a huge element of size that the Moose are lacking but when the other additions are made he really only looks like a 4th line guy. Thought the Moose really lacked in chances early in the game but in the 2nd taking Cataford off that top line helped spread out the skill and got them generating more chances.

Late to the party.
An amazing moment for Mathis Rousseau. He has been at his best and for him to score a goal on home ice is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. His teammates were ecstatic. Even too cool for school Jordan Dumais raised his hands up. Also the fans... I challenge a junior hockey rink anywhere in the world to be louder in October. That was nuts, and rightfully so.
Also Mavs' call was awesome. Brought out the NJPW excitement for that one.

Overall a very good weekend of hockey. Halifax got out-played by Rouyn-Noranda but they made the best of their opportunities and of course Dumais and Rousseau were the difference makers. Halifax has been getting goal scoring from their depth players but playing the Huskies showed that in terms of championship-caliber depth, the Moose need some more size and experience to truly be a contender.
Thought the Foreurs game was a bit of a hangover after the bender Friday night. But again that depth showed up and got the job done. Rousseau again was extremely solid. Phillips' goal was a beauty.
This team is a work in progress, but they have a lot of pieces in place and an extremely good core to build on.

The biggest takeaway from this weekends games was this team needs size. Kilfoil took a beating both games. It was almost like he was targeted and it reminded me a lot of Phillips in the finals. Back to the lack of size discussion. After this weekend it confirmed to me Roelens is a player they need to target. His big body and 56% at the dot is exactly what this team needs. I think a 6’2 Mianscum would be a big time target too. Adding those 2 players add size and scoring. It becomes a really win win. Another thing that I was made aware of is Crosby is expected to miss all of November. The team is keeping it very tight lipped but it’s not good. This is very unfortunate because of how good he started. He looked like he finally grew into the player they hoped he’d be. It’s also unfortunate because I would have loved to see him on the PP with Dumais here now. That big body infront cleaning up the garbage and creating a screen would have been fun to watch.

Roelens was a future from Sherbrooke was he not? It's too bad Cam didn't snag him in the off-season because now he's now leading the league in scoring. Bathurst will want to cash in. I'd be happy with him and Mianscum. Both will be available. They won't be cheap, but being 20 will cap their value somewhat. Hopefully Cam can strike and not be forced into bidding wars where too many futures are involved. I honestly don't see Halifax doing future deals tbh. If they refused to do them in 2019 when they hosted the Memorial Cup, it's hard to ever see them doing it. New ownership could change that.

What do you guys think about Luke Woodworth? That wouldn't be a bad pick up either
Woodworth Roelens Mianscum potentials for Halifax; I've also heard Trenholm but we don't want him that's just pure speculation!

Voltigeurs didn't trade for Gauthier to trade Woodworth They are probably looking to contend next year.
