You guys have 4 stars and then a bunch of average players. The top line + Rousseau will only carry you so far.. Moose will need to add a decent amount at the deadline I totally agree and no one is saying otherwise in the Moose thread. It’s not a chocking comment, lol

Wow they pulled that one out. Ugly. Dumais seemed a bit off tonight. Vidicek is the unsung hero. I hope Cam is making some trades behind the scenes. Yeah there were 2 or 3 chances that Dumais had that he’s been deadly on that he just missed tonight. I don’t find the way the refs call the majority of Moose game does them any favour, it’s as if discipline is zero advantage because they just choose not to make calls against the teams the Moose play. Half the time Dumais is getting mugged before the puck even gets to him. Vidicek had been great… there’s not a ton of guys that can finish as well as he can. The Moose still have 13 games before the Christmas break and a top 20 year old forward would certainly help the top forwards with the heavy lifting between now and then. .

I am just gonna throw this one in: but who the hell decided to let Ponzetto take the 3rd penalty shot?

I am just gonna throw this one in: but who the hell decided to let Ponzetto take the 3rd penalty shot? The coaches who watch him everyday in practice. Phillips normally shoots in the third slot for us, and it was Whynot last year - so it's always a bit off the board.

Lol, let’s sit the best offensive CHL player and send that random guy like a shinny hockey game…nice try…it’s too early to complain about coaching as the team has been winning like crazy, but his time will come soon, I am sure.

Sure it was a bit of a frustrating final 40 minutes, but you have to give credit to the Isles who played well tonight and seem to be our toughest matchup in the division (even if they aren't as talented as the Eagles or Wildcats). Ozols played solid, and the Kearney/Conrad combo are going to be very, very good in a few years.

9 in a row… this is insane. Lol
It’s such a funny situation to be in, 17-2-1 in the last 20. And we’re still in here talking about needing to improve but it’s true.
We’ve been playing some ugly hockey on some nights, Rousseau is making 30+ saves and the Cataford/Vidicek/Dumais line is contributing majority of the points every night. I’m just saying they are absolutely carrying. Without the first line we could be like 7-10-3 or something.
I’m having a hard time believing this will hold up, but they haven’t proved other wise. A 7-game series could completely change how this team looks.
Onward to Bathurst… make it 10? LOL

As much of a dud as the games was it not like that game was according to plan but as the Moose have shown good teams find a way to win.
Crazy stat Cataford 8 goals in the last 9 Dumais 9 goals in the last 9 Vidicek 10 goals in the last 9

Line Changes Tonight
Cataford | Vidicek | Dumais Fournier | Kilfoil | MacPhee Peitzsche | Todd | Fontaine Ponzetto | Moser
Milner in nets.
10 in a row feels nice but I feel like the time has come. 4-3 loss tonight. But prove me wrong! Lol

Half the time Dumais is getting mugged before the puck even gets to him. We are the least penalized team in the entire league (by a pretty significant margin), and probably miss out on a lot of powerplays from the refs trying to "maintain balance" and "keep things even". Dumais in particular needs to do a better job though of just playing through it and stop throwing his arms up or trying to sell calls.

I love Dumais but it seems when he is bodied and someone is fighting him for the puck he gives up. That is the impression I get. Anyone else think this?

He's soft, but when you put up 140pts you're allowed to be. I'll be interested to see him in the world juniors (assuming he makes it). That tournament is fast, chaotic, tons of emotion. None of those words I'd use to describe Dumais lol. I'm not suggesting he couldn't keep up. But we'd see a different Dumais then we're use to, that's for sure.

Dumais is bored, we can see it, but who would not be in his position, he should be in another league where he would learn more. If the topic is to talk about WJ,C if he plays on top two lines he will finish top 5 in points of the tournament, if he plays 3rd or 4th line he will look bad. He already showed that he can perform agaisnt top prospect in last two years Prospects tournaments finishing 1st and 2nd scorer of the tournament agaisnt WJC-type playerts in both years. But if we talk about Dumais and this Moose team in this current state for this year go for it, he will need a lot of help from many players as he is not gonna run over any teams in the playoff with Vidicek and Cataford without a top 2nd and 3rd line….i am 100% convinced, but its only my opinion.

Any word on Lévesque? I was on the opposite side watching him go down the tunnel - sure looked like a big wrist probem...
