~8300 tickets sold in 2 nights back to back. Credit to the fans showing up and getting loud for our guys. Big Mo was in our building and it showed today and yesterday.
The feeling in the building right now is so organic, team and fans all feeding off of one another makes for a tough rink for any opposing team to play in. Great jobs by everyone involved tonight.

What an electric two games to open the playoffs! Cam Squires showed up to play and he’s playing above and beyond anything I ever would have expected from him, taking the hit in game one to make the play and throwing a huge hit tonight to make a play for Newcombe’s goal! It’s great to see all four lines playing physical, throwing hits and not backing down from anyone! Be interesting to watch Romeo and Savoie the rest of the series as they went at it pretty good but Savoie seemed to back off quite a bit after Romeo’s goal. I’ve been pretty critical of Burbidge’s play this season thinking he was soft and didn’t play put much effort into his play but these two games I didn’t find that, tossing hits, getting into it and pretty well as close to as a fight as you’ll see now. Callum Aucoin and Emile Ricard are going to be two great players for years to come! You can see they have the skill and work ethic to make it and they seem to be shit disturbers and won’t back down even though both are on the smaller size. Can Squires said in an interview that the fans were great and kept the place rocking, I personally find that the big celebrations that he, Houde, and Patterson showed brings more life to the crowd than the normal stick raise and high fives and I love them, a little extra show for the crowd to get them into it! And waving the flag from the refs and some of the players I noticed Fullerton and Patterson waving their sticks like the flag I thought was great too. Shows some personality when hockey players can be bland for the most part now days. Hopefully the boys can keep this rolling this week!

Besides the obvious of Newc , Houde and then Squires being the best player on the ice through 2 games. By far … I have really like Aucoins game - not flashy but he is a really good hockey player at both ends. Rolling the lines helps out a lot going on the road - I think the top 6 guys had maybe one shift in that last 7 minutes
And I don’t want to say I told you so buttttt. I don’t know what rimouski is going to do in nets now, and I don’t know if it’ll matter the way cape is playing

Lets not let things go to our heads after 1 good weekend.

You have to go back to 2009 to find anything comparable for the first 2 playoff games but I believe this is a new high for the first 2 playoff games in franchise history.

A Burbidge shakes off any negatives if he comes to play now at this time of year. Agree on Aucoin and Ricard as well. Going to be handfuls to play against when they're veterans,

A couple observations after two games:
If Newcombe misses time after getting injured last night, we need to hope for a short series to get some rest in between Rounds.
Burbidge looks like a different player from the regular season, besides the offense he's produced, he's thrown at least 3-4 healthy looking hits and is skating hard in both directions.
Our team looks very deep right now, all twelve forwards have been giving the shark boats all they can handle down low and causing Rimouski to turn the Puck over in their own end alot.
Eagles D Zone play is impressive, not sure if I have seen games with as many shots blocked by sticks down and swept away from the "home plate" area as these first two games. Ruccia has been serviceable, and maybe even conserving some energy not having to face 30+ SOG which will help the longevity going forward.
Rimouski D is having a terrible time holding the blue line in the offensive zone, I must have watched close to ten passes to the point missed to lose the zone and Have to retreat backwards.
Feel bad for Lacelle, Kid looks very good for his age but has obviously been pressed into an unfortunate situation and really got picked apart on the last few goals last night.
Rimouski needs more from their veteran players. St-Denis has been leading the charge for them but OAs Barbashev and Savoie have been focusing too much on trying to draw penalties (without much success) instead of putting their heads down and getting pucks at the net.

Even if Masse struggled in starting Game 2 they could have used a new starter in Game 3 as a reason for optimism internally.
