We've guaranteed ourselves at least one more home game, here's hoping it's in the third round.

Ruccia doing his best Tim Thomas impression this run, what an incredible season he is having.
Gutsy win, C200 must be the most difficult rink to play in for road teams these playoffs. 4-0 and I’m pretty sure the goal differential is like +15 or so.

I don't think Ruccia has gotten enough credit for his play this season. He kind of held this team together a bit early in the year when they struggled to score. This is an exceptional group of D with a wall behind them in net right now. Who knows how far this team can go this spring?
Hats off to the coaching staff as well as this team just kept getting better and better all year. Remember how brutal opening weekend was and the questions about consistency/scoring in the first half? Everything has come together at the right time and they are now... 15-1 in their last 16 games at the toughest time of year against a couple of strong opponents in the playoffs as well.
Can't wait for Game 3

How does this run compare to the 1993 Oliers Calder Cup run?

How does this run compare to the 1993 Oliers Calder Cup run? Not close until they've actually won a trophy. However, in terms of the Eagles, the culture inside of the building and in the community has changed completely.

One big thing to take away from tonight, a 1-0 playoff win takes heart, guts, and grit. In order to win the war you NEED to win the battles.
This is a big battle to win for any team wanting to stake their claim in the playoff hunt, something to look back on after a bad period, knowing you can dig that deep and pull something out when things aren't exactly going your way.
They'll need some more of those gutsy performances going to Chicoutimi for the next three. Their fans will show up and get loud, and the Sags will further adjust I am sure, along with becoming more and more desperate to get themselves back in the series.

So sad seeing the passionate fans from 25 years ago, all of a sudden jumping on the bandwagon after years of forgetting about their existence. The only ones that stuck around from that era are the man that used a wrestling name and Bauer. Almost any junior hockey fan who has suffered through sub 2000 crowds for year after year and barely any playoff success for the entirety of the franchise would gladly accept every bandwagon fan for the experience to see a playoff game with a full building. The model of junior hockey is designed in a way that you rely on "bandwagon" fans coming out to the rink every 3-4 years when the team is ready to make a run. As a season ticket holder of the Wildcats I wouldnt blink an eye if the Wildcats could give way 4000 free tickets to playoff games if it meant the atmosphere was good. I'd imagine most die hard season ticket holders feel the same. I mean some of these guys like JB have kept it real since day 1. No filter , just was honest and told the truth and how he felt . Then you get the Hals who just attack ownership every second he gets ( the quiet lately has been nice ), But overall most longtime posters have been true , respectful and went through the wringer together . I think everyone is enjoying this breath of fresh air we have going on.

The only ones that stuck around from that era are the man that used a wrestling name and Bauer. I couldn't be happier to see the general public jump aboard. In these big crowds right now, you will see people reigniting their love for the team, you'll see people who have taken time away maybe bringing their kids for their first games, maybe you'll see people new to the area watching their first hockey game. These are all important people to have in the building, and just as important is watching them leave entertained and feeling like they got their money's worth. Bandwagon shouldn't be a bad word for a smaller market like ours, especially when we're projected to compete again next season, and potentially be strong again the season afterwards. These people could be your future season ticket holders, flex package buyers, merchandise buyers leading to something sustainable in our area in the future.

Its easy to support teams when they win. Its easy to be a fan in a market that has had strong ownership and money. (And they still question everything) Remember the economics though that deep patient ownership in a smaller community with aversion to leaking money is hard to find.
Fans generally have even less patience and they are not all invested to the same degree. Lives are busy. Need to decide where to put most of their energy. People usually hang out where they are happiest.
A bandwagon is good for the community. But for sure once its over they hop off.

We all know you only post this shit because you cant actually discuss the league and the games. Go pull this shit in October when rinks are empty and the boards are dead. Your poorly timed and executed shit disturbing on this is just weak, man.

I think everyone is enjoying this breath of fresh air we have going on. I think we have all kept it to our own versions of real. All anyone has ever found here is discussion and debate and a lot of opinion of how to try and rebuild the fan base. The main topics of that was always a hard working team people identify with and/or winning. We know the 2 arent always mutually exclusive but for many reasons we currently have been given both and the community has predictably rewarded the efforts of everyone involved. This is what we live for. Not talking about ticket prices and empty seats and 3 in 4’s and inflation and a housing crisis. And its wonderful that none of that is the topic of discussion among 5,000 people in the rink. Its about the cohesion their team is playing with and how after 25 plus years we are actually looking like a team that every so often rewards their fans with a little unexpected success in a league where that is extremely hard to do.
