Hopefully the eagles do a better job than Moncton at staying disciplined because the sags will do a good job at getting under your skins however, Louis is a much better coach so it shouldn’t be an issue. But you can expect a team that just traps it up as welll

Larger Olympic size ice in Chicoutimi. So skating and speed crucial.
PK especially and getting stuck in own zone after consecutive icing will be taxing.
But that extra room for Eagle forwards may be good for them. Could be harder to get turnovers in the corners behind icing line as it's easier for defender to escape with more room.

Gotta think this is a long one. Eagles in 7. Ruccia in our rink is the difference in this series.

Another pivotal series incoming, and two teams that very few people at the start of this season would have pegged to be meeting in the second round.
This will definitely be a series decided by offensive firepower, and I'm expecting some high scoring firewagon hockey for at least 1-2 games on the Olympic sized ice.
I don't think there's a huge gap in between Delafontaine and Ruccia in nets, Delafontaine has a 39 save SO against Moncton in game 1 and Ruccia has been steady when needed but not over the top.
Defence, and the health of the Chicoutimi D will be a major factor in this series. Peteris Bulans and Loic Usereau both missed Games 3 and 4 of round one.
We hold a clear advantage in both Experience, and Physicality. Both of these come in handy during the grind of the playoffs. Romeo, Roy, Aucoin, Fullerton, Ricard and Shortall should give these guys absolute fits down low, and in the corners of the smaller ice surface of C200 and going to Chicoutimi up 2-0 will be Priority #1 for the Eagles.
I'm sticking with Eagles in 6.

Let's not give the "big ice" too much credit.

This series is a tough one to analyze. You have an older Eagles team who has come together at the right time and really uses their physicality and experience to get it done.
On the other hand, you have a young Chicoutimi team who also has come together in the latter half of the year that is quite talented. I would argue Chicoutimi's peak in a few years will be higher than CB's.
For me, it gets dicey when you have a Chicoutimi team that plays a faster yet softer game. This I would imagine favours CB. That being said, the Chicoutimi ice surface is huge and lends favour to those kinds of teams on top of the always worrisome (but easier for travel and expenses) 2-3-2 format.
While I also give credit to Rimouski's LaCelle for coming in after just 7 regular season games, Remi DelaFontaine is a brick wall in net. You will not see some of the angle mistakes made by LaCelle made by DelaFontaime.
There is also a bit of a storyline here. You have two former CB players who were high draft picks who just did not wish to remain in CB (Thomas Desruisseaux and DelaFontaine). I hold no judgement as moving thousands of km's away to a French community at the age of 16 would not be ideal in my honest opinion, I understand the former coach mismanaged him last year, and Newcombe has been a great addition. However, Desruisseaux is to nobodies surprise a top producer on Chicoutimi and if the trend continues will be lights out next year.
CB will really need to stay focused and take advantage of the smaller ice surface against the Chicoutimi talent.

This has the making of a great series, 2 hot teams down the stretch, 2 teams who played very well in their first-round match-ups, and 2 goalies who have capitalized on their 19-year-old seasons, once teammates fighting for the net, now both looking to backstop their squads to the final 4.
The big ice, what does it mean? The consensus seems to think it's a huge advantage for the faster teams, I disagree, same length, same location of the dots, same size net. It's how well you can use and defend the pass, as the East-West game becomes more important.
The width leads to an advantage in zone entries and the PP/PK. The big ice requires teams to be more patient on the PK and more east-west on the PP, it's an adjustment, but not a game-changer, CHI is not unbeatable at home.
I think this series comes down to Cape's depth on the blue line and whoever steals a game or 2 in the net. Similar to the last series, games 1 and 2 are crucial, The Eagles will be tough at home and they need to capitalize.
Let's not forget about puck luck, like every team looking to win in hockey, you need it.

Alot of tickets sold already for Friday's game before the box office opens up for the first time Monday. Even with the tickets save in the Upper-bowl for if Chicoutimi fans want to buy them it pretty impressive.

As things are going right now we could get a potential sellout by mid-week. Lower bowl down to just a few singles and it looks like a big group bought out one of the upper bowl sections (not the section held for Chicoutimi).

Stay out of the box! Chicoutimi's PP is deadly.

Stay out of the box! Chicoutimi's PP is deadly. Rimouski killed us on the PP in the last round. I think at least two games will be decided by Chicoutimi offense. We've had trouble keeping discipline at times, and only took advantage of inexperienced goaltending during games one and two. That will not be the case this time with Delafontaine.
