"biggest crowd in Eagles history" is the statement being made.
Seeing how these guys had such a tough time getting up for games early in the year in front of 1500 fans there's some potential for some absolute magic in terms of atmosphere over the next 2 days.

Depends on the leadership group and the coaching. Both teams but particularly the Eagles. Remember a tie game is an overtime game and a bounce the wrong way and they are all using the "c" word.
Chicoutimi's job is simple. A split - is just take one game and Bob is your uncle with next 3 at home.
I rather start on the road in that situation. Over 2 games you will figure it out. It's nice knowing you can always come back home and it's probably 3 games there.
But starting at home with all the pressure of first time sold out weekend in 17 years I think that can turn against a team very fast...knowing they still need to win up in Chicoutimi and it's 3 in a row up there.
I have gravitated to watch the Eagles alot this year because 1) Halifax played uninspired and 2) the Eagles looked like they were having fun...and so that needs to continue. The leadership players on the Eagles actually inspire me.
Game 1 won't be decided in the first 15 minutes. Cape Breton needs to play the long game and not come out too high or holding sticks too tight as the saying goes. They will win by withering the opponent down. Everyone is rested now. Play smart and within themselves. Don't try to win a series in the first period. Crowd can be great or your worst enemy when things go bad. Stay focused.
It's a chance to show the Q that the team of 2nd half of season is one that turned corner and deserves worthy mention as top 4 in league.

I will say one thing, there is zero chance this team would rather be starting on the road. The Sags are young and will have a harder time dealing with C200 than the Eagles will. Whether there are 4300 like the RIM series or "sold out" like tomorrow night, it's what every player dreams of. Pressure is pressure, it will exist regardless of an extra 1000 fans, but pride can trump pressure and fans can drive momentum. This will be an unbelievable experience for the Eagles players and their fans.

I think the fact our guys played in some quiet C200's in the first half means an unbelievable excitement as they hit the ice knowing there will be 5,000 people in attendance. That is where that pride trumping pressure should really be a big momentum boost for our guys. Give me home ice in any series 2-3-2 or 2-2-1-1-1. There's advantages and negatives to both depending on the type of team you are and the season you've had. I always see it as you have to win a road game to win a series because winning 1 in 3 is easier then going 4 for 4 at home.

After beating Rimouski and seeing all the positives - do the Eagles really have any ‘pressure’ to win this series? Have they met or exceeded pre season expectations ? I do think the opportunity is here to play for a conference title if they come to play but I feel like this is a loose group who is playing and performing accordingly

The idea there is a real chance to win this series is huge for the team and the community. A lot has gone right lately and after 25 years we have earned some of these random breaks. But we will examine all that after the season. Tonight should be electric

just took a quick look on the qmjhl site. apparently, the biggest crowd during the 2007 run was 4,553. the most well-attended game in eagles playoff history was game 5 versus the drakkar in 2002 (4,842). again, just took a quick glance so i may have missed a game or two.

Another huge win, starting the series off on the right foot. When it's not Squires putting up a 3/4 point game it's Ruccia with a shutout, or MacDonald with a multiple goal effort. Team is deep and determined to make a deep run.

Big statement win to start this series off. I'm sure Yanick Jean will be making some adjustments to the lineup tommorow, however will it be to their benefit? Or is the potential there to disrupt chemistry in the young squad?
4922 in attendance tonight all got to see exactly what this team was capable of.
