They mentioned on Eastlink Newcombe is playing with a heavy heart as his grandmother passed away yesterday, that young man has been through so much this season off-ice but he hasn't let it beat him.

I think tonight was definitely more of a statement game than even game one. Weather it's 1-0, 4-0, or 6-2 this team will march forward and bring the fight to any team.
Also putting to bed the thoughts of the Olympic ice potentially being a hindrance, we had another big game dominating play along the walls, and our offensive minded players used that extra space to their advantage all night.
Great effort tonight all through the lineup in the face of losing one of our top faceoff takers and mixing the lines up which we haven't seen that drastically this playoffs.
Let's close this out tommorow.

Newcombe, Squires, Houde, Burbidge, Cibulka should all benefit offensively from having more room to work. And they did 1 more to go

That was incredible. I never would have figured they would chase Delafontaine from the net and honestly figured this would have been Chicoutimi's night. Incredible game with everybody contributing in some fashion and keeping the home crowd pretty quiet. No passengers and everybody understands the assignment.

So sad seeing the passionate fans from 25 years ago, all of a sudden jumping on the bandwagon after years of forgetting about their existence. The only ones that stuck around from that era are the man that used a wrestling name and Bauer. What sports are you watching where people are not jumping on the bandwagon of successful teams? We all know you only post this shit because you cant actually discuss the league and the games. Go pull this shit in October when rinks are empty and the boards are dead. Your poorly timed and executed shit disturbing on this is just weak, man. Easy there guy when bringing the attack on hockey acumen or contributions. Your contributions to game talk is “refs did well, nice tip in”. Any trained monkey could come up with this. There are people that stopped going completely for almost 20 years. Like fell off the earth bad. You can normalize it, but it is cringe.

There are people that stopped going completely for almost 20 years. Like fell off the earth bad. You can normalize it, but it is cringe. Yes, we're commenting on the game. We're all watching it. Nothing controversial is happening. So yes we're talking about the subtleties of the game. I know how used to bashing the officials we are after a loss so when they were literally shone in a gigantic spotlight in a 1 goal playoff game in the 3rd period and make the proper call yes I am going to talk about it. Just like the impressive as hell 16yr old kid they have on their blueline. Would you rather me be more "OMG did anyone even SEE that Squires goal where he drove to the net and showed patience and outwaited the D before putting it by Delafontaine?" I just assumed everyone seen the same 1 goal in the 1-0 game. But what content are you even trying to provide about the games you're not watching? There are people who still haven't gone in 20 years. There are people who took 10 years off. Some haven't gone since Covid. Some are brand new and have no clue about any history and don't care. I guess the crowd in Halifax have been the same 7000 people for 30 years. Minus that 2008-2011 or so period where Halifax support also fell off the map due to poor management decisions. What are you even trying to accomplish at this point? That your best shit disturbing days are 20 years behind you? We know that already, Guru.

Let's close this out tommorow. 100% a statement game. Honestly, I was a little worried about game 3. Bringing the series back to 2-1 with 2 more home games for the Sags could have titled things a bit. The Eagles depth is key, MacDonald out and we never missed a beat. Squires has been quiet offensively this series and we are up 3-0 and have outscored our opponent 11-2. It would be great to close this out tonight. You can expect a desperate Sags team that won't go down without a fight. Delafontaine will be much better I am sure after a rough outing. Lots of talent on that team, they will be a force in the league for the next few years.

Quick shoutout to Ricard, anytime you have a 16 year old contributing with multi point efforts in the playoffs it bodes well for his future in the league. Could see him being a big contributor for next year and beyond. This experience is definitely doing wonders for his growth as a player, learning what it takes to win in the playoffs, etc.

You think along the lines of a Cataford .......they are going through a dismantling and it has already started .......I am asking for the High Pick "and" Murphy ( knowing he will most likely have no issues with going to another Maritime Team ) .

Its a give and take. By giving up a name you're protecting future draft picks. Ultimately you can't keep it all and add pieces. The key is to enter a rebuild without it being 2-3 years before you get back to having your own draft picks.
