Here's what I have for you. Team REDAndrew Roski had 2 goals and an assist. One was an amazing snipe and the other a nice shot. Matthew Bissonenette had 1 goal and an assist playing on a line with Roski. He was the best forward for either team in my opinion. Jordan Lane scored a goal on a rebound, how he did so is beyond me. He was a frustrating player to watch. He has Bruce Graham written all over him except Graham had skills. He can't really skate thus not being able to throw a check. Karl Blain scored a goal on a decent shot. Colton Cameron,Mathew Milson, Zach O'Brien and Samuel Cadet also added each an assist. Also someone else on team Red got an assist but I forgot who got it. Team WhiteDaniel Pettersson scored Team White's only goal on a lucky flick shot assisted by Julien Tremblay and Michael Querry. In the shootout Team Red scored 0 goals on 5 shots while Team White scored 3 goals on 3 shots. Goalies were : Robert Kidd for Team Red. Looked pretty solid in regulation, didn't get much work but was solid when called upon. Team White made him look silly in the shootout however. It was the opposite for team White. Louis Domingue looked nervous/shaky in regulation but really shut the door in the shootout. I'm definitely not giving up on this guy. Final score Team Red 5 Team White 4. Notes : Dimitruk was the best d-man out there. Even threw a nice hit on Milson. Gormley made some nice plays but also made a rookie mistake when two guys came at him, he had an open guy on the boards but decided to throw it in front of his own net and hit his goalie almost causing a goal. Patrick Downe, Jeff Bell and Taite Paul were also solid on defense. Bissonnette and Dimitruk were 2 of the best out there for sure. Bell looks to have lost 15-20lbs, his face is much more chiseled than it was. He needs to handle the puck with more urgency and make quicker decisions. I wonder what the plan is for him, the Commandos probably won't have a regular spot for him.LBD looked good down low but he committed a bit early on a few shots, might just be nerves, he has good size, athleticism and puckhandling. I was disapointed with O'brien but he played with Lane. Lane defintely won't make it on hockey skill, but he had 2 points. I can see him in the mix as #12-14 forward. Cadet joined the rush a few times, he seems to have good offensive instincts. Noseworthy Roski and Fortune seem to fit the style of player Flynn wants to add, size and grit up front. Daoust is big and skates pretty well but he didn't show a lot offensively. Milson looked good on Bissonnette's line, played a feisty game and skated well. I was a bit dispointed with Irving from what Hodge was saying. I don't know much about the commandos but why wouldn't he have a regular spot with them?

They have a bunch of 19 and 20's plus they may get MacDonald back from Halifax, Theriault from Shaw or Morin from VD. how many 20's can they have and are all the other ones better than him? if so why don't the cats negotiate for their rights? pardon my ignorance of JrA hockey. I'm just currious

Junior A teams can dress up to 9 20 Year olds so there will be an opportunity for all those players to play. Also the Commandos are hosting the Eastern Canadian Championships next spring so they will be icing an experienced team.

I'm just currious No its a good question. Jr A has the same overage rules at the Q in that they can only dress 3 20 yr olds. And Jr A teams are in a tough situation as the rights to their best are owned by Q teams. And so they are often left waiting to see who gets cut and who makes it. But for 20 yr olds it is extra difficult as you can only keep 3. Jr.A teams can ice 8 20 year olds.

Here's a couple of my thoughts from tonights game
-Gormley looks good but nothing over the top just yet. He got burned pinching a couple of times but recovered nicely. -Daoust was someone that caught my eye. He has one of, if not the best shot out there. -Milson had a pretty good outting, I thought he was a bit of a surprise. -Lane is huge, slow, stone hands but makes a good sheriff. I can't see him making this team. -Bisonette was definatly one of the best out there. -Roski looks pretty good. -Dimitruk was the best Dman IMO, damn I wish he was here last year. -both goalies didn't impress me any -there was this one kid, can't remember his name, I think it started with O, he didn't have the most skill out there but was always getting great scoring chances and just see to be in the best position, best part is, he is only 16.
All in all it looks like a great crop of talent. Going to be some tough decisions made.

You're probably thinking of O'Brien. He looked decent in both games. Another 16 year old that was pretty solid in both games is Downe. Then again when he was on the ice with Gormley and Bisonnette's line they were dominating.

In the for what it is worth dept, here's my take
All the draft choices were impressive Noseworthy, O'Brien, Roski, Downe, Bell, and Daoust
Gormley played well.
Bissonnette looks like the best player on the ice to me and is a play maker with very accurate passes.
Others that I would like to see more of Matthew Milson Colin Gates Simon Jodoin Paul Dimitruk of course
After that no one stood out (to me) but that doesn't mean there aren't anymore. There is however some that are obviously not ready and for sure Jordan Lane isn't Q material.

Like you said Bisonette is another that can pass very well and set up plays. I'm curious with this Lane situation.....he is definatly not Q material but it sure would be nice to have someone police our young talent and I have a feeling that this may be something Flynn is thinking.

I admit I've never been able to figure out Flynn's choices very well but I don't think Lane is an answer. Bell if he's willing is a better hockey player and big enough. I found that teams like to put you into a position of putting your fighter on and then play hockey trying to take advantage of the poor hockey player. SJ did this more than anyone as I remember. Herr wasn't terrible as a hockey player but Lane is. He also looks prone to taking penalties which can hurt us even worse.

Lane took 3 penalties tonight so he seems to be penalty prone as well. Memory serves me correctly I think it was one hit from behind, holding and something else

question what will be the cost for the exibition game on sunday anybody know ? The Q site has that game highlighted in red which says its cancelled. Nothing on the Wildcat site says its cancelled so its probably a mistake on the Q site.
