I saw Breton three times during teh conditioning camp and he was buring the puck...He has improved his skill level over the summer, and can stil fly like the wind.. During teh tail end of teh season Breton was always in the middle of the scrums..I do remember him throwing a 6ft + guy on the ice last year... He may have more heart then people think..If i was Cameron I would be more concerned... Brenton also buried the puck in training camp two years ago... it was one reason why Torchetti gave him a spot on the team. He didn't score as much last pre-season... but he still had the ability to crack the lineup in a limited role on a less talented team.

You keep forgetting that one was 20 and one was 18 ... how did Morehouse do at 18 in the Q ? Chris didn't do too bad at 18, he only cracked the roster of the best WC team in franchise history, do you think the Brenton of last year could have played on that team? I highly doubt it let alone be invited to camp for that years team. Doubt he would've been invited to the camp? We invited Taylor Moore! I think it's fair to say Brenton would've at least garnered an invite (wouldn't have made the team, though).

I think we both know that we invited Taylor for a different reason, he wasn't exactly Wayne Gretzky.

Morehouse at 18 was no better than Brenton ... and he had the luxury of playing with Marquardt(18) and Spencer (19)... not Stephens (17) and Macausland (16). Morehouse made that team on his heart alone ... it wasn't on skill. That will be the same reason that Brenton makes the team if he does. Morehouse was also kept as a 20 YO because we had few options ... do you think he'd be kept this year if he was a year younger and battling Eagles Sill and Biduke ? He'd probably be behind Eastman also if Voinov doesn't show. Morehouse is not an exceptional player ... neither is Brenton ... both simply role players. Morehouse is more of a leader and gets the nod there ... also plays with that nasty edge that Brenton does not have ... but from a skill standpoint there isn't much difference. Morehouse was never kept to score goals ... and neither would Brenton be.

I agree with most of your post but I guess I very much disagree with you said "Brenton could fill the role that Morehouse vacated ... almost identical style of play " Correct me if I'm wrong but Brentons role would be a penalty killer, I'd have a hard time wasting a spot on the WC for a second line penalty killer. I wouldn't mind my team playing against this type of player any day Moorehouse's Role would be in the vicinity of Leadership, heart, agression, drawing penalties and character, I'd have him on my team any day, I'd just hate to play against him.

I watched a little of the Monday conditioning camp. There are a lot of players there who I don't recognize. I did over hear one saying he was going back to University so I don't know who is seriously trying to make the Wildcats and who is just conditioning. I did notice that there were many guys better than Breton there and Flynn's comments would be very true if even 2/3 ot the players were Wildcat hopefuls. There were two defensemen who I was really impressed with but I have no idea who they are. One with a white shirt and the other with Red helmet and shit and black socks with a white stripe up the back like a skunk. They played together that night. The two Defense that you are refearing to monday night. White shirt with the black was Andrew MacDonald....Black socks with the white stripe was Barbario....They have played together before.. You could be right and probably are but I think I would have recognized them. Oh well I was hoping for a new star or two. Those two are stars for sure. Barbario seemed to have increase his speed considerably over the summer. I don't think anyone got by them when I was watching them.

Does Dimtrik still have the colored visor? That's usually how I recognize him.

I have absolutly no idea how you can compare Brenton to Moorehouse, other than size there doesn't seem to be any similarities, but I'm sure you'll point out a few. Brenton could never take the punishment that Chris could, Brenton could never put up 15 goals like Chris did for 2 years in a row and Brenton sure as hell doesn't have the heart that Chris does. Don't get me wrong, Moorehouse is anything but an elite Q player but I would never compare Brenton to Moorehouse Really ? to me ... Brenton and Morehouse are the identical player ... physically identical in size, skating style, effort ... but Morehouse had the crazy edge that Brenton does not have ... and that made him more valuable. Brenton had 6 goals as an 18 YO getting 4th line ice time while Morehouse got 16 as a 20 YO playing close to 30 mins a game with veteran players. I think Brenton could probably get closer to 16 with Morehouse's ice time and being a year older. I'm not saying Brenton could play just as well as Morehouse ... Morehouse was unique in his intensity and playing style ... but Brenton brings similar skills to that line in speed and work ethic. I think Lessard is probably a better fit physically though on that line but he lacks the intensity and work ethic that is needed on that line. I don't see a spot for Lessard or Brenton if it is not on that Sill/Brannon line. Are you suggesting Brenton lacks heart ? I think that is Brenton's biggest asset ... he works his butt off every shift. The biggest part of Morehouse's game is playing physical and in your face, Brenton has none of that, so you can't say they are similar. Breton is weak along the baords and not vcery good on PK, if he is not hitting or scoring, he's not worth keeping on a 3rd or 4th line.
