think of how much better Dimitruk would have been if he stayed here last year. Same scenario apply's to Downe. Not necessarily, Dimitruk would have been #5 or 6 last year, maybe #4. If Downe is #8 and only plays 20-25 games, he's better off in MAAA or Jr.A.

If he keeps playing through this camp the way he did last night, I'd have to agree with that. For a 16 YO, he shows alot of poise and intelligence. If they knew for sure Voynov was coming, I'd keep Downe and trade Boyle. With Dimitruk Savard Gormley and Downe, he is expendable. So what you're saying is you would trade boyle if Voynov shows up and keep boyle if he doesn't. Either you would keep Downe. I'm still for keeping boyle even if Voynov shows. Remember that Gormley will be out for some games and Barberio also (showing off your talent games...etc.)

I don't think you build your roster around those 2 events.

They must be cutting 10-12 players from camp today. Including the Euros, they have 44 players.

I was away for the weekend and missed all the on-ice action - do you think anyone has played themselves onto the team among the guys not yet signed, which could lead to a vet being dealt today or waived later in the week? Julien Tremblay sounds like a bit of a pleasant surprise ..

Julien Tremblay sounds like a bit of a pleasant surprise .. I agree on Tremblay but for him to make it, they would need to cut Brenton and Stevens and trade Lessard. It's already crowded up front... Bidduke-Cameron-Eagles Lessard-Sill-Brannon MacAusland-Fomin-Brown Bissonnette-Roski-Petterson That leaves 2 spots for Brenton(signed) Stephens(signed) Noseworthy Lane(signed) Fortune Lariviere Martin Tremblay Sicilia and Querry. That's the most depth the WC have had in 2-3 years.

What is the story on Petterson? What kind of player is he? He skates well and has decent size, he's a 2 way forward.

What is the story on Petterson? What kind of player is he? When I watched the first intersquad, one of the first players I noticed was Petterson (blue helmet) because he reminds me so much of Murdoch McLellan. As Carey says, above average skater, very mobile, smart defensively. This type of player is always valuable, especially for PK etc. Great pick up IMO. Like Murdoch when he first arrived, needs to fill out a bit.

Where did he play last year? What kind of stats did he have? I'm too lazy to look up his stats but it's on a previous thread. I suspect the best stat for him could be his plus/minus if available. Stats don't always tell you much about a two way player. Hopefully he'll play wednsday exhibition game.
