... a few guys on the team who can handle dropping the gloves if needed so I don't see why Cats need Lane. Just my opinion. Who do you have in mind?

They won't stop anybody from running the kids or top players.

According to the Wednesday T & T, there are 30 players left in camp (3 goalies, 8 defencemen and 19 forwards) including 13 returnees. None of these figures include Fomin or Voynov.
GOALIES Louis Domingue- 16 Nicola Riopel- 19 Wendell Vye- 18
DEFENCEMEN Mark Barberio- 18 Jeff Bell- 17 Matt Boyle- 19 Paul Dimitruk- 18 Patrick Downe- 16 Brandon Gormley- 16 Simon Jodoin- 18 David Savard- 18
FORWARDS Jesse Biduke- 20 Matthew Bissonnette- 16 Scott Brannon- 19 Matt Brown- 17 Randy Cameron- 19 Matt Eagles- 20 Ryan Fortune- 18 Jordan Lane- 19 Pierre-Marc Lessard- 19 Devon MacAusland- 17 Matthew Milson- 18 Tyler Noseworthy- 17 Daniel Pettersson- 18 Michael Querry- 18 Andrew Roski- 17 Zach Sill- 20 Ted Stephens- 18 Julien Tremblay- 16
I can only find 18 forwards... Who am I missing? The paper said 19 forwards remain, not counting Fomin. I must be missing someone?

IF Fomin arrives today, do you think they'll put him in the lineup? The more games he gets into early the better.

But we are getting Stich and Grant back (I believe they reported yesterday) and we won't be dressing them tonight. I wouldn't expect to see him play in a game if he hasn't been on the ice with the team yet.

How does Querry look? Haven't been able to see any of the camp, do you think he'll crack the line up?

How does Querry look? Haven't been able to see any of the camp, do you think he'll crack the line up? I find he's been solid, but there are younger guys that have been more impressive. He is a guy that I think he can play in the Q as a checking line and PK type player though.

How does Querry look? Haven't been able to see any of the camp, do you think he'll crack the line up? I think he is a great skater but only handles the puck average. He isn't afraid to play along the boards and seems to give a solid effort every shift. However, likely due in part to his linemates, he didn't do much in the way of creating any offense and seemed to be playing in his own end more than on offense. Keep in mind that this assessment was made watching him vs other rookies and non-Q players ... and so I would expect him to be even less effective against more experienced lineups. Having said all that ... there is a lot to be said for a kid that is a strong skater ... but do we have any room for a low-offense 18 YO with so much other talent at 16 and 17 ? He would have made the team last year (with the same skill set) ... but probably not this year.

That's apples and oranges, Blacksmith was a big kid that came from Midget and had never fought, LGM tried to turn him into another Laraque. Lane is a guy that was the best fighter in his Jr.A league last year and had over 200PIMs. The test for Lane is not the fighting, It's how fast his hockey skills come(with better conditionning and coaching) and if he can play 4th line for 10-12 shifts a night and not be a liability. His skating straight ahead is not bad but he needs to get quicker and more defensively aware. He seems to know how to position himself offensively and knows where his teammates are, in preseason and intersquad he's gotten 6-7 points including 2 Sunday night.

Some of these calls are easy to make, Bissonette, Roski but some I am just wondering what is the criteria Flynn is looking for. Querry and Fortune are still here in spots I would rather see go to a couple of the 16-17 year olds he already cut. Heck even Karl Blain I found my more noticeable out there than these two. Geez this depth is tough I wanna see some of these cuts get a year of Q experience not join next year when they are 18 or 17..

Blain is weak in the corners and defensively, he did not score enough to offset this. Querry and Fortune are more gritty/physical, at least if they don't score they can still contribute.
