Doucette by all means should be in the NHL, but because of his size he isn't. He is BY FAR one of the best amateur officials in the country (hes worked the Mem Cup, World Jrs x2, World Championships AND the Olympics)

Magic was at the game and was pissed. Heard him swearing as he was reviewing the video. It would appear a whistle went before the puck went into the net. Most of the skaters stopped skating except for buddy who got the goal.
This was my first game this season, not a great one to get back into the groove with.
We didnt deserve the win, but at least the last minutes made it soemwhat entertaining

Guys played "small" without Lane in the lineup. (no pun intended) The younger players..... Pettersson, Bissonnette, Famin... were not aggressive. Eagles got hit pretty hard a number of times.

A whistle went? Did anyone else in the building here something? I noticed on the video broadcast it appeared that even the goalie pretty much gave up.

Can somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe after the 1st PP expired and the 1st stoppage of play, there should have been 4 players on the ice for Moncton and 3 for Victo instead of 5 against 4. You're right - at the first stoppage in play, it should have reverted to a 4 on 3 for Moncton. However, Moncton should have complained at the time of the faceoff, not after the goal. Exactly. I said before Stephens went offside that they should make the goalie cover it so it can be 4 on 3. Sure enough he goes offside and I'm like yeah that's not bad....then they are still 5 on 4...I was waiting for Flynn to say something....but nope. I blame it on him, his fault for not saying anything.

Listened to the press conference after the game from Flynn. The Wildcat bench was screaming after the whistle for the 4-3. Referees did not stop the play.
After Vic goal when ref came over to the bench, he told Flynn" I F$%^%$d up , there is nothing I can do and now I am going home. " Thats when Flynn went nuts and started banging the stick into the boards.
He also called the league office after the game but could not get a straight answer from them on what will happen.
Lahey started that fist goal with a beautiful back pass to Stephens who played give and go with Lahey, who reached back while being held and buried the puck into the empty net. Not 1st star material but a very pretty goal.

In cases like that, a coach like Martel would be pure entertainment. On another note, those pink jerseys looked a lot better than what I expected.

First thing I said when I walked in. Unfortunately there were way too many people there for me to go and put a bid on a jersey but I shall do so on Sunday. Anyone know what the bids are approximately? $200? $250?

The big crowd tonight made it almost impossible to get close to the table. If it's anything close to the Ettinger jerseys auction, expect the big names who have NHL written on them (Gormley) to fetch at least $500. That time, Bernier's jersey went for about $1,000 if not more. The least famous players went for about $200.

I highly doubt Flynn said that. He could get himself into major trouble for saying something like that. Nothing will happen. They can't replay it. Cats lost. No playing this game over.

Moncton Wildcats head coach Danny Flynn was blunt.
"I thought Victoriaville played really well,'' he said following a 4-3 overtime loss to the Victoriaville Tigres in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action last night in front of 5,616 fans at the Moncton Coliseum.
"Give them full marks for their effort, but I've been in the game a long time and him not knowing the rules at the end just topped off one of the worst refereeing performances I've ever seen.''
Victoriaville scored the winner while shorthanded with 13 seconds remaining in overtime. It was the second goal of the game for Philip-Michael Devos and it was controversial because it came during five-on-four play when it should've been four-on-three.
Devos carried the puck around the back of the net, came out the other side and scored into the empty net. Moncton rookie goaltender Louis Domingue got caught out of position on the play and picked up a loss in his first career game.
Flynn called referee Ryan Murphy over to the bench immediately after the goal and they had a brief exchange. Murphy then skated away and an angry Flynn slammed a stick against the boards a couple of times in frustration.
"We were screaming from the bench during the play that it was supposed to be four-on-three,'' said Flynn. "Obviously, the referee and linesmen were asleep at the switch.
"I guess they should've came back from late lunch at the clinic and got the rules straight. It was dangerous out there. The officiating was disgraceful.''
Moncton, 7-0-2-0, is second in the Atlantic Division and tied for second overall in the QMJHL. It remains the only club in the league that hasn't yet suffered a regulation time loss.
The Wildcats looked awful and got outplayed for most of the game, but rallied from a 3-1 deficit with two power play goals late in the third period. That allowed them to force the game into overtime and earn a single point.
"Victoriaville did a very good job,'' said Flynn. "They pinched, they were physical and they were strong on the puck. They played an excellent game. They did a very good job of frustrating us and hemming us up. They played us tough and worked very hard.''
The Wildcats will face the Montreal Juniors tomorrow at 4 p.m. at the Moncton Coliseum.
Antoine Laperriere and Brandon Hynes also scored for Victoriaville, which is third in the Central Division at 6-7-0-0.
Matt Lahey, Pierre-Marc Lessard and Matthew Bissonnette countered for Moncton, which trailed 29-25 in shots.
On the power play, Moncton was 2-for-9 and Victoriaville was 1-for-5.
Moncton is No. 3 in the Canadian Hockey League rankings, but it didn't look the part in this game and fell to 4-0-2-0 at home. The Wildcats were coming off a four-day break, but got outworked by the more hungry looking Tigres who were playing their third road game in four days.
The Wildcats were a step behind the play most of the game, lacked execution and looked like a tired club. They faced a strong forechecking opponent and often had trouble clearing their own zone.
Moncton came out strong with a 12-4 shots edge in the third period, but Victoriaville grabbed a 3-1 lead on the power play at 9:25.
The Tigres were assessed a five minute major for checking from behind at 12:22 and the Wildcats cashed in twice on that opportunity to make it 3-3. Lessard tapped in a goalmouth rebound at 13:59 and Bissonnette tied it by firing a screened wrist shot past Tigres goaltender Kevin Poulin at 17:21.
The Wildcats had both power plays awarded in the five-minute overtime, including a two-man advantage for 39 seconds. But the Tigres scored to snap their three-game losing streak.
"If you want to win on the road on a regular basis, you can't afford to take bad penalties,'' said Victoriaville head coach Yanick Jean. "Other than that, we were outstanding in this game. I'm very happy our performance.''
Victoriaville held a 15-9 shots edge in the first period and took a 2-1 lead into the intermission.
The Tigres opened the summary on a weak goal at 6:45 as Devos fired a shot from near the faceoff circle dot that went along the ice and between Domingue's legs. The Wildcats made it 1-1 at 13:26 when Ted Stephens centered a pass to set up Lahey.
The Tigres jumped ahead 2-1 on another suspect goal at 17:35. Laperriere fired a slapshot from the left faceoff circle near the boards and beat Domingue to the short glove side.
Victoriaville controlled the play with a 10-2 shots edge in the second period. But it was a scoreless frame and Moncton was very fortunate to only be trailing 2-1 after 40 minutes.
The Tigres were awarded a penalty shot at 17:24 of the second period, but couldn't make good on the opportunity. Maxime Tanguay hit the goalpost.
``We didn't play very well in this game,'' said Wildcats centre Matt Eagles. ``When we turned it up in the third period, they couldn't skate with us. We were definitely sub par in the first two periods.
"I don't know why we looked tired. We're coming off four days off so there's no reason for that. We got outbattled. They played their game and we were trying to play catchup the whole time. That can't be our style. We've got to be taking the play to teams. We've got to learn from this game.''
Moncton is No. 1 defensively in the league. This marked the most goals the club has given up in a game this season.
"I can't really explain why we came out like that tonight,'' said Wildcats defenceman David Savard. "We didn't come out the way we would've liked in the first two periods. We played a lot better in the third period.
"I think we had a lack of communication in our own zone and that caused us some problems. It's clear this was our team's worst game this season. We had trouble with breakouts from our own zone and things just weren't clicking like in previous games."

What I don't understand is why did Flynn put out 5 players? In that instance, it seems he was as guilty as the referee really.
