The first time we see the new Montreal team at the Coliseum.
Riopel in nets. Allen in nets for them I would think.
5-3 Cats.

I wonder if Montreal will play Allen 3 games in 2 1/2 days. He played Friday night vs Halifax and he's playing tonight in St-John... I think you'll see a different Moncton team Tomorrow then you've seen in last couple of games.
Moncton 4-2

Lets hope we have a much better game against the JR"s than we did against, Vic was certainly the better team last night. Rio in net 3 - 2 cats

Montreal didn't look good on tv. I gotta say Moncton should get away with the win. I say 6-2

I wouldn't say it'll be a easy win, you could have said that about Friday Night's game vs Victoriaville... it should be close game. I heard Luke Adam might play tomorrow, time will tell....

Hopefully the Cats actually show up this afternoon, and hopefully the on-ice officials will actually know all of the rules.

That is the third game in a row that I thought Lessard was the best skater for the cats. Riopel should have gotten the first star and Berube the second instead of the other way around. Much better play than last night but I did think the defence was trying to play 2 moves ahead instead of working with the puck at their feet several times. It caused them to lose the puck several times and Rio had to make some good saves to bail them out.

My personal summary... focusing on the Juniors (for obvious reasons)...
Score: 1-0 Moncton Shots: 34-29 Moncton Faceoffs-Won: 34-27 Montreal Hits-Given: 15-8 Montreal
Powerplays: Montreal -- 0/6; Moncton -- 1/5
From what I saw of this game (about the last half) "sloppy" would be a fitting description. Passes weren't clicking, positioning was off, communication went to hell in a handbasket (at one point late in the third Berube left the puck behind his net for a defenseman and the defensemen left it there for a Wildcat).
Penalty minutes were even at 17 a-piece. Still, if you omit the two fighting majors of the game, 24 minutes in penalties were handed out. The Junior have been plagued by penalties on this road trip and games have had no flow or momentum. When they do get a powerplay opportunity they've been blowing them.
Grenache lead the team with seven penality-minutes, five of which came in the form of a fighting major. Grenache along with Brennan, O'Keefe, Rubin, Fillier, and Dion all were assessed minor penalites. J-F Berube stopped 33 shots in a first-star losing effort while Nicola Riopel stopped all 29 Junior shots on his way to his second shutout of the season. Ted Stephens scored the lone Wildcats goal on the powerplay 5:22 into the first period. Assists went to Daniel Pettersson and Matthew Bissonnette (who's name is nearly as fun to type as "Mississippi").
Considering the Wildcats have yet to lose in regulation this season, the Junior kept themselves in this game. Lost opportunites, however, cost them what could have been two points today.
Three stars: 1 - Jean-Francois Berube 2 - Nicola Riopel 3 - Scott Brannon

Very uneventful. A punch thrown by each, than Boyle fell him.

Is it just me or is Dimituk loooking shakey out there. When he gets the puck he seems nervous and fumbles it alot. He is not getting very much playing time and maybe his confidence is not too high.Hopefully he can work it out it would be a shame for him not to develop at this level after making the decision to come back to moncton. Not being on pp or pk also limits his chances. He needs to find extra ice time in practice to improve.

I've noticed that as well. For the most part, you hardly notice him out there, but when you do, he is coughing up the puck, or falling down, or something. I hope he works through this as well, but it is still quite early in his Q career.

Anyone take note of what the pink jersey's sold for? Before the start of the game, the Gormley jersey had the highest bid at $500. I am sure that they would have gotten higher bids if they auctioned off their normal game worn jerseys.
