MacMillan for Cameron and Vic 2nd round be enough? Right now MacMillan is not playing well enough to justify making that move anyways ...you HAVE to be kidding me. You wouldnt take MacMillan for Cameron and a 2nd rd pick??? You obviously realy love the Cats too much to think straight or you fell on your head.

I know the stats don't tell the whole story, but Cameron is 2-8-10 in 9 games and MacMillan is 2-2-4 in 7 games. The only reason for the Cats to make that trade was if MacMillan could put up 90-100 points. They already have a better shutdown center in Sill, plus Stephens is doing well 3rd line.

Its still complete homerism. MacMillan on your team right now would be playing much better than he is with Halifax. Thats pretty basic. Yes, lets use stats over 7 games...thats something CHSB does. Id rather look at the previous 200 games and the intangibles MacMillan brings. He can actually throw a hit, he plays the PK. MacMillan is a better LW than he is a C.

What does he bring that would make the Cats a better team? The only pieces that would dramatically alter the team's fortunes is a Petit/Brault/Lalonde-McNichol type impact center or a PPGM d-man to help the PP(Paris Bourdon Lacroix). I'm not saying he isn't worth that to another team, i don't see him being worth taht for the Cats. MacMillan just gives you more of what they already have with Brannon/Lessard/Cameron/Eagles/Sill etc. Yeah he's a good 2 way player that can help on PK and put up (maybe) 1 PPGM. They have a lot of those type guys. How is that homerism? Why trade a 2nd round pick and not really alter the composition of your team? It's not just about 7 games, he was not even a PPGM player with Voravek on a powerhouse team last year.

Ok so you're officially on the record as saying you prefer Randy Cameron over Logan MacMillan... A 2nd rd pick is pretty much useless to you. You have about 30 Q caliber players and 9 picks in the first 5 rds in 2009...its kind of overkill. I know you love the cats but come on...you are seriously underrating Logan MacMillan's offensive ability. Its on par with Cameron's at the worst and he brings a lot more to the table. I honestly cant believe you prefer Cameron over MacMillan

If as a Q GM you start flipping 2nd rounders for a mild upgrade you won't have a job for long. If Halifax wants to flip MacMillan over for Cameron, I'd take my chances...but as I said I think MacMillan is damaged goods to a certain extent. Cameron is on the #1 PK with Eagles and he is over 58% on faceoffs. He's not my favorite player, not by a long shot, but he's taken a step forward this year. Maybe if Cameron is stinking up the joint the next 6 weeks and MacMillan is making an impact every night, then I might make that trade.

So right now you wouldnt trade Gougeon for D'orso, unless D'orso heats up? This is ridiculous logic, well into chsb territory.... and beyond IMO. Cameron has to be terrible while Macmillan has to be impact every night and then MAYBE you make that trade? Someone get a doctor to Dieppe, quick... somethings not right. Cameron is outscoring MacMillan so far, while MacM plays on a terrible moose team with an anemic offense which is constantly being shuffled?

Talking Rimouski who is a Memorial Cup host and moving a 20 year old for a 19 year old. Moncton is a team on the rise but not yet in the top 3-4 area just yet, that may change if they keep leading the league in 6-8 weeks. As I said, MacMillan doesn't bring anything that Cameron doesn't bring that the Cats desperately need. You say he is more physical, well Sill Brannon Lessard Petterson Roski bring that. I don't think coming to Moncton he will suddenly turn into a 100 point guy. He could not do it with Voracek, I doubt Eagles brings it out of him.

MacMillan is a better LW than he is a C. We already have a player like that... his name is Randy Cameron.

MacMillan for Cameron and Vic 2nd round be enough? Not quite. Cameron is 19, not exactly what Halifax would be gunning for. What are you talking about?? Hfx has been picking up all sorts of mediocre 19YO. He's just what they need.

You obviously realy love the Cats too much to think straight or you fell on your head. I've heard all the hype about MacMillain ... but never really have I seen anything from him that makes me notice him. Yes is better than Cameron ... but in a year that we aren't contending why bother spending the assets for that upgrade ? I'm wondering how good MacMillain really is without Voracek. I don't think he is quite as good as all the Moose hype ... but a very good player for sure. I agree that we are loaded with Q ready talent and a shit load of picks ... but some of those players/picks can be flipped at the next draft to fill in some holes we have ... and we'll get more from those picks at the draft than we will at Xmas. MacMillain is probably not back as a 20 ... Cameron most defineately will be and will be pretty much a lock for an overage spot. So ... not only does MacMillain cost Cameron and a 2nd (in this hypotehtical deal only) ... but also the possible cost to bring in a 20 YO next year to replace him. In reality ... MacMillain will cost us at least a young player and a 2nd ... not a 19 YO. To me that isn't worth the bother either for 4 months of LM.

well I think the whole notion of a macMillan for Cameron trade is pretty ridiculous to begin with..... but I think you should be careful in suggesting who will and won't be back for sure as 20's. Alot will depend on this year probably.... if cameron has really taken a step forward and continues to improve in most facets of the game thruout the year it's quite likely his NHL team will sign him making him far from a certainty to be back as a 20 year old
on the flipside if macMillan has a horrible season or unfortunately should sustain another major injury.... who is to say the Ducks will sign him for sure? (or is he already signed??) and maybe he does return to the Q as a 20
for the record I don't think it's unfair to suggest macMillan has never lived up to his hype in the Q ... but I'd still take him over randy cameron anyday
