Looking at the replay I don't see the puck cross the line ... and the only way Mills could see it cross the line was if it got in behind Riopel ... but it is out in front of him a second after the shot. The overhead view doesn't show anything ... at least I can't see the puck.
The way I see it ... Mills called it a goal but could not see the puck in the net ... and the video review was simply inconclusive so they could not overturn the original call. If Mills saw the puck in the net ... why did he need a video review ?
Looking at it a few more times ... from where the puck finally appears after the shot ... it was never in the net. It appears in front of his pad in an area that was never in the net.

And you can see the puck bring up on Rios knee, and when he lifts his glove hand before he mves his leg you can see it in the blue paint. way to quick to call and assume that puck went in by Mills.

Mills has been one of the worst "up and coming" refs in NB for a few years, so nothing would shock me. He did the U de M Hepditch fiasco and was in way over his head.

... as far as thomas goes, pretty sure Sill or Boyle would do fine in a fight with him... I'm pretty sure sure too, but I don't want either Sill or Boyle in the box for 5, or worse, a game misconduct.

What fiasco are you talking about? The one where Hepditch lured U de M's best player into taking an interference from the bench penalty which also has a game misconduct penalty onto that? It was actually Mike MacDonnell that called that one, not Mills. Either way, it was the right call.

Usually when a player jumps into the opposing bench he's the one that gets the penality, not the players on the bench.

Both teams play on the same ice.......but it would be terrible if there was a bit more water dropped in the Sea Dogs end....muwahahahaha . Conspiracy, I think not. Mayer wasn't beaten, he makes those saves all the time, just part of his routine. The Kid has the flexibility of a gymnast They don't floo0d or drop water, they just scrape and gather the extra snow that's accumulated. It's exactly the same thing they did in Moncton last year when Scott Howes scored a shootout winner right in front of me. That was nice. Were you at the game? Did you not see the 2 zambonis do a strip down the middle of the ice?
