Wonder who it is? Regardless, proabably won't make much of an impact. Never know. A few years ago, we out of nowhere had a new guy at practice that nobody had ever heard of. Turned out to be Paul McIlveen, who went on to score 37 goals and 89 points for us as a 20. I remember watching him, in what I believe was his first Q game, at the Metro Centre. First thing that jumped out to me was he was a great skater. I thought from the get-go he had a shot at being a good player. And I was right. ;D Goes to show how a change in scenary can be all a player needs.

John Moore follows up: " Could be new face in Moose lineup Thursday. 18 year old forward Lester Brown is not an import but Dutch. Plenty of speed and some skill." Perhaps LLLP has more info on this guy? www.tristateselects.com/info/browntogatineau.asp

I wonder if hullbob has any info on him.

Nice call, his first game was indeed at the Metro Centre - an 8-0 CB win of all things. Evened the score for a 7-1 shellacking the Moose put on the Eagles in a previous meeting at the MC that season (and that game may as well have been 12-1, the 7-1 final was flattering to us). Rane Carnegie was another great example of how all sometimes a player needs is a change of scenery. What an out-of-nowhere pickup he was for you guys. Another great example of a change in scenery that I always love to remember is Michael Dubuc. He went from sitting in the stands/spot 4th line duty in PEI.... to a multiple-time 40 goal man in Rouyn, almost overnight.

And while we are going down memory lane how about Danny Dallaire, who as I recalled was athird stringer with one of the teams, also how about Adam Pardy who we just gave to the Capers, these certainly made great adjustments to the change of scenery.

Interested to see what this kid can bring if he sticks. I certainly am not expecting a whole lot, but god knows we need a little more skill and speed up front so it cant hurt. Who goes if he stays?? Stoddard?? I like that he's only 18 though, stays with our rebuilding plan. Hope he plays tommorrow.
And the Todd Gack reference almost made me spit my drink out, lol, classic.

If he can contribute, and we release a 19 year old, then great. However, if he simply increases the roster to 25, then that would suck.
I hope the organization is not going to spend an inordinate amount of time looking for quick fixes to our offensive problems. If something falls in their lap, fine, but don't be looking too hard. Some of these kids currently on the team will eventually contribute. This organization has never had to, nor has it ever been, patient. In time Andrews, Lemieux, Gelinas will start to get more comfortable and offense will come. Costello was great out their banging, and as he gets more comfortable he will create a little bit of open ice, maybe cause some turnovers. Desjardins is still a kid who oozes potential and work ethic. Knotek, Chremetiev and Grant will get in a groove. Gillard, Alberthauser and Clarke are all guys who will contribute more as they get used to the league. With the negativity in the media, I see a little crack in the Moose resolve. They just need to stick it out, work hard, and things will come. Hopefully the org. does not put too much pressure on the young kids. Let them grow, and things will come.

Totally agree, Melly. Eventhough we are 0-6 its fun to watch the kids. You can see the potential in all of our young players. They may make mistakes but they all have good hockey sense and seem to learn from their mistakes. I thought Gillard was like day and night from Sat. to Sun. More calm, made smarter decisions and even rushed the puck a bit. If the new kid fits and we do release a player then fine, but if he comes in and takes a spot from any of Gelinas, Lemieux etc. then I won't be pleased.
Just a note, I think Desjardins has to stop trying to do too much. Almost like he's trying too hard (if that's possible lol) and seems frustrated. He just needs to get back to the simple plays and things will come.

I think it all starts Thursday night we did a great job on week with loses to Gatineau and Victoriaville these are very strong teams and so are Cape Breton,Saint John ,and PEI,and even Bathurst it has been a rough start for a team with so many rookies and players 17 years or younger.. I do have to think and say I saw great im provements in a few of our rookies and some of the vets too the leadership skills are there..I see our next 6-9 games being a different results.. Go Moose Go!!! Also if we do have to add another player maybe we can send a player back to Junior " A" or even midget if that is possible...
