After roughly a third of the schedule over the Mooseheads have to review whats on hand, whats in the cupboards and do the right things based on their findings for whats its worth here is my thoughts: (1) Goaltending is vital to the success of any team, my decision would be to call up Blois ( 2.65 GA, 931 S%) we drafted him he is 18) he could very well end up the #1, nothing to loose and everything to gain, if he works out trade Corbeil at the break. (2) As posted earlier bring up our prospects from the farm like Boudreau, Myers, McQuigan, Bishop, etc to replace #11, #43, #12, #6 all of whom will not be in the future plans and collectively are making no contribution this year and to speed up the enhancement we need to target a young scorer in the league now to trade for at the break for our second line support (like a Duffy for example) the reason for the enhancement is to give the fans support and hope for a better future and more entertainment NOW. Currently the hope factor fan support is fading, the feeling around the rink indicates that while we are in most games the expectations are that we can't score, we can't stop the puck and we can't win and this has to change for the second half or the Metro Center will getting ghostly. Seriously, decisions have to and should be made now for plans to have a better on ice product now and to speed up the rebuildingfor the fans, remember everything above is moving forward towards being younger and better.

I used Duffy as an example, it could be another high end 17 year old in the league, but I would expect if PEI are seriously thinking of contending that Duffy would be changing teams at the draft as part of a Christmas trade with who ever.

- Blois didnt report to camp and you dont realize what a difference Jr A is to the Q. Stoddard was a ppg player in Jr A last year, now you want im replaced...Brett Gallant could barely keep up in the Q and he finished top 3 in scoring in Jr A...Blois is not a major junior caliber goalie...
- McGuigan has only played a couple games so far because of the injury he suffered in Moose camp so I think they may give him a call later on, but I believe they want to let him play in Truro for a bit.
- Myers wont be re-called, you can bank on that
- Why do people want to rush Boudreau?? He is playing a lot in Midget, hes playing quite well, he is a leader on his team which is a pretty solid team, let the kid develop.
- Bishop isnt ready to play here.
Just because Halifax has 1 win doesnt mean they have to call up every 16 and 17 year old they have in the system. JUst because a player is 17 doesnt mean he is going to be better than a player who is 18. Case in point you wanting to get rid of Pelletier in favour of Myers and McGuigan...thats just idiotic. Pelletier had major knee surgery and barely played last year. Yes, he is struggling but he is light years better than Myers and McGiugan.

Also Brandon MacLean is 18 and not high end, we can't correct your mistakes, we make enough on our own, thanks

As I indicated bringing up Blois cost us nothing, he would be in competition with Corbeil for the 18 year old spot, its as simple as that. As for the other moves they wouldn't be happening till the break at Christmas when even more facts will be known, sorry we have to disagree on Pelletier.

C'on LaLa, read my post I said that B MacLean could not compare to Duffy as high end 17 yr old, I would not consider Myers or MCGuigan as high end either what ever their age, where is your logic also younger =rebuilding

I wish they could clean out the full 20 year old players on team go into december with out any 20's and maybe be able to trade off two or three nineteen year olds. Then add two fair 18 year olds who will be able to score 15- 20 goals each this season..Also get a good trade for Thomas as he will not be in the plan for next season...

The only player who would bring you anything near a top end future player is Knotek and as a Euro his market will be limited. The problem with your "complete rebuild" is you don't seem to realize the reason you only have 1 win is the same reason you can't really rebuild much more: You have no veterans. At least nothing that a contender will pay you top dollar for. I think you'll be very disappointed if you're expecting Cam to pull of miracles during the trade period.

My Physiotherapist (who is a huge Moose fan) texted me totally surprised that I would make that post. He agreed with Lala that the Junior 'A' is no measure for Major and he pointed to Louis-Seize who now has as many points in the A as he did in his whole 3 years of Major also he said that Blois didn't come to camp because he could not get a guarantee of making the team and he decided to go the NCAA route, so you will not get him to report unless its a spot on the team. He is also in agreement with Smith and Russell that ONLY a true rebuild will get us back on track to where we should be and that no matter what the cost, when the owner says rebuild then rebuild it will be. He thought that all 20's and most of the 19's (other than those in the 2010 plans) will be available at the break. He likes that Russell concentrated on the defence in the past draft, however he said scoring will have to be the priorty in the next draft along with a goaltender ( that could be traded for ) or in the early picks. I highly respect his opinion of the situation, so I have decided to bite my tongue and accept the rebuild as difficult as it will be .

And Score my friend claims you are eating to many potatoes when you feel that Duffy is worth a Sidney Crosby, while they both come from the Halifax area that should be no reason for you to assume that they are equal in value in a trade, hell we even afforded another Halifax player Marchand do you remember that. We could pay what he is worth, not what you think he is worth.

I wonder where will be the Mooseheads rebuild next season and also the Titan rebuild...
In the case of the Titan, if they moved the right players this summer and at the draft, they really could have a decent team next season.
However, for the Moose, I believe you won't see the light at the end of the tunnel before 11-12.

At least nothing that a contender will pay you top dollar for. I think you'll be very disappointed if you're expecting Cam to pull of miracles during the trade period. You hit the nail on the head with the no veteran part. Yea we have Grant, Knotek and Randall etc, but we don't have any veterans, or a group of vets, to hang our hat on this season to win us games. The top line has done a ton, and deserve a lot of credit, but they can only do so much. In the interview last night on Eastlink, Chris Donnolly put it a good way, saying this year we have a "perfect storm" haha. Funny, but true. Teams with a strong overage group and a veteran goalie, can mask and cover-up the fact you're a young, inexperienced, bad hockey team. There have been teams in the last couple years that have been worse then we are, on paper, yet they had solid 20's and in most cases a veteran goalie. Those 4 players can make a huge difference to a teams record at the end of a season. If you think back to the year we had Brine, Carnagie and MacDonald were our 20's, we had a respectable year, played .500 hockey with a young team. Well take one or 2 of those guys away from that team, and you have what we have this year. We just don't have the horses to take over from the young guys and win some games and keep things somewhat respectable. Same goes for a goalie. And I'm not saying this as a slight to Corbeil or Grondin. They're both playing hard and trying to help the team. But the fact remains, both are young, inexperienced and still trying to find their confidence at this level. To have 2 young goalies on a young team, with a young defense is lethal, and I think we're all witnessing that right now. I'm not sure how we got all of these things to line-up this way, but it's what we have. And unfortunately we don't have a ton of assests to move and make upgrades in the next couple months. Our improvements will have to wait till June and the draft. Heck Rimouski made a run to the Memorial Cup last year, and yet still have more pieces to move then we do!! As far as moves go, bringing up Kody Blois?? Come on!! For the trade period I'd like to see a forward or 2, preferably an 18 yr old with some experience in the league. We need some help now. We don't need a panic move, with stop-gap 19's, but we've got to find some stability. We have enough picks in the cupboard to take care of the 16 and 17 yr old spots on the team. We need some parts that can step in NOW. I was looking through some teams, and came across Victo. What's up with Bradley MacDonald?? Injured, not dressing?? He was a high pick with Gatineau, and after he was traded to Victo put up 7 pts in 11 games. Victo is off to a good start, and are a candidate to make some upgrades. What's the chances we bring in a guy like MacDonald?? Also I like the Brandon MacLean idea. 18 yr old, Former 1st rd pick, hasn't really produced, needs a change of scenary, from this area and wont cost a lot. Low risk, high reward type move. He's not gonna turn into a 30 goal guy, but he could be a guy who could help a 1-17 hockey team.

Knotek+ might be able to fetch a Duffy, but I dont think PEI would trade him, unless it was something extravagant.
