Oligny has been quite good for us... pretty much has forced our second Euro to a permanent spot in the stands he may be dealt because I imagine he has significant value to any team talking to Serge this Christmas.... but again you guys have nothing we'd even consider for Oligny.. sorry

Any trade is posssible with the Rockets, would you believe they traded Haddad to CB for a d-man who played a hand full of games for them then followed that up by taking Lomano off our hands, thus it can be said that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE !

I think its safe to say that LALA has a problem assessing D-Man so we will dismiss his comments with regards to Hannay, Gillard and Bishop, heres was his comments about Lomano at his draft, LALA stated that " he plays a similar game to Bruno Gervais " ( enough said ), while assessing D-men is weak, he does show a talent for assessing forwards as noted when he said of Sid The Kid at the same draft " He is the best offensive player in the draft and he is responsible in his own end " OH NO hold that last thought heres what he said about Kenzie Sheppard ( believe it or not ) I quote "Kenzie is a great player, he plays a game similar to PETER FORSBERG " and at last report they are a couple of pending lawsuits one by Patenaude and the other by Forsberg. LOL Now based on this would you believe that Hannay would be no better than a JF Brault or that Gillard will not be a 3/4 Dman in this league.

Drafting is an inexact science, especially talking about the mental and physical development of teenagers. The best scouts in the biz are right 60-70% of the time at best.

I think we're all fortunate to have a guy like Lala give us scouting reports and insight on players we cant all see.. and you have pointed out 3 or 4 mistakes he's made.. scouts dont make mistakes??? I can guarantee you he's been right alot more than he's been wrong.. As for the comparisons.. way too many forum junkies somehow turn similar playing styles, into hes going to be the next etc.. If you were to tell me someone plays a style to Bruno Gervais, I would think ok, this guy COULD be a PP QB, an offensive dman.. He didnt say he was going to BE Bruno Gervais, so why do you have to make it like that? Why were criticizing one of the most knowledgeable posters on this board for providing his opinion on things is exactly why people are saying the board has gone downhill. I, and I'm sure I'm not alone, appreciate the insight. Whether it ends up right or wrong-- who cares-- its better than nothing, which with this kind of attitude, will be what we have sooner rather than later.

I don't actually know why people (scouts or otherwise) feel the need to label a player as the next "insert name of former/current NHL player here"...
on a sidenote it's good to see carey Price admit at best he's right less than half the time

Makes it easy to imagine what you are getting in a player. If I say some guy we drafted plays like Brandon Reid/Briere, I expect a smaller, speedy, shifty playmaker. Im not expecting the next Daniel Briere.

I always take it to mean, best case, if he develops just right, you will have a player similar to the guy being referenced - and as we all know many players never reach their maximum projected potential, for a variety of reasons - injury, opportunity, failure to grow/develop, lack of work ethic, skill deficiency in one or more areas, off ice issues, etc ... and sometimes the scout just missed the boat and a kid was nowhere near as good as thought ...

Let's here your predictions. I want you to give us a scouting report for all the players that are predicted to be picked in the top 4 rounds of the upcoming draft.

Now, did you want to quote what I said about MCT, Randell, Bishop, Gilbert, Paradis, etc etc etc?? When I put my opinion out on the line...ill be wrong on a couple of occasions... And I loved Gillard in his 2 years in AAA so im not sure what your point is bringing him up?? Oh yeah...you dont have a point. Im used to this kind of stuff, im not sure why, but every year some sort of joker comes on here and comes at me...nothing new. I dont profess to be an expert. People here appreciate my opinion on these players, i dont preface my opinion by saying im going to be right 100% of the time but you know whats teling? Its laughable you had to go back to 2003 to dig up examples....hey, getting 4 things wrong since 2003 isnt bad considering there were over 1000 players drafted since than...

I for one love reading your updates and scouting reports on players like many have said before I also don't think too many people have been 100 % right either but they are worthy reports and then I can follow these players to see if they do keep working on hockey as a career or do they go by the wayside..LaLaLaprise keep up the wonderful reports we all watch for them..As for the people who are so jealous of you TOUGH!!!

Hey Lala, I appreciate your opinions as do most of the posters ON ALL BOARDS, you provide an insight from the scouting end thats very much appreciated by all. BUT you are not above being audited when you make statements that are far from being accurate such as the Hannay comparison to Brault, the Gillard statement that he will not be a top 4 d-man on this team when clearly his play to date indicates that he will. Please keep scouting and reporting and I will keep auditing the good and the bad, so think before you type. And quit slapping yourself on the back with statements like it took me to go back to 2003 to dig up examples of you when your performance wasn't up to par, everyone knows that you are going to be wrong sometimes, so don't worry about that, just keep everything in perspective and keep up the good work its appreciated by us all.
