With some kids leaving NCAA for the Q, I wonder if Flynn is working on Gacek, Zielonka and Cisse? Though Cisse should start getting more ice time with Trivino kicked off the team and Coyle academically ineligible and headed to SJ.

Though Cisse should start getting more ice time with Trivino kicked off the team and Coyle academically ineligible and headed to SJ. Different situations ... it is looking like we are going to unload and rebuild in the second half ... Cisse is 19 - why would he want to drop out of school and join a rebuilding major junior team for the second half of one season? Unless a contender wants him and a trade could be arranged. Gacek is 18 - he has 18 points in 64 games over two seasons in the USHL. Is he worth going to much effort to recruit at this point? It appears questionable that he would be an impact player. Zielonka is also 18. Playing for Salisbury Prep again this year ... not sure if he has committed to an NCAA team for next year or not, nor was I able to find any stats from this year.

Does anyone have access to the Cats current 50 man list? I try to keep a running list, but I am showing a couple of extra bodies on mine ... a couple of guys must have been quietly dropped at some point ...

I always wondered why they don't just maintain the lists in real time on the league website for all to see ... no need to handle them like top secret documents.

I always wondered why they don't just maintain the lists in real time on the league website for all to see ... no need to handle them like top secret documents. On the old q site you used to be able to go to the players page, sort them by team and it would give you an accurate 50 man protected list, but of course why keep good info like that on the new site?

hmhshl.goalline.ca/player_profile.php?player_id=940849&team_id=91575&league_id=7339Brett Arthur is a 6'4 200 lb kid who lead the Halifax Metro High School League in scoring this season ... Obviously high school is a big step below major junior, but nonetheless it appears he has an interesting mix of size and skill. Calling lalalaprise - scouting report? Is this guy a late bloomer? A talented kid playing in a weak league for off-ice reasons? Or just a case of a guy being good at one level, but lacking in one or more areas of his game to play at a higher level?

The Nova Scotia high school league around Halifax is much higher quality than the one around the moncton area. The calibre of the Millwood team, whose hockey program is second to none, is probably around the level of a major midget team. LJR, the moncton area high school league's top team by far, could not keep up with them. I know a couple guys who played for them last year.
I watched his team play in the high school tournament earlier this month and saw him play. He was physically dominant but didn't really have that Q-level puck sense and not overly fast. He is sure a scorer in his league and showed it but I think he will lose that touch when he goes up against higher competition. If he improves and tries to crack the roster IMO he'll be turned into simply another grinder.

The NB High School league is much better as a whole...Millwood has a good program and they very well could beat a NB HS Team but pound for pound the NB league is stronger. NB has 4 Major Midget teams...NS has 8...and the 2 provinces have about the same population...where do you think the extra players go who dont make Major Midget? The majority play High School. And its hard to call Millwood better than a Major Midget team when the entire team was cut from AAA camps or not even invited...in a 1 game showdown it wont even be close.
