As was stated in a different thread, as much I'd love to see Mosher stay herer, in terms of development, he is much better off getting lots of starts in MJAHL. This way, if the Rocket are anywhere near their potential at Xmas, Gelinas can be used in a trade, and Mosher can be brought up then.

Jean doesnt play his back up...Gelinas is basically going to play one out of every 10 games...better for Gelinas to do that than Mosher in my opinion.

Gelinas will have next to no trading value come Christmas time, maybe something close to what we traded for him (8th or 9th rounder). I can't see any sense in trading him at all.
In fact, I kinda like the idea of keeping him for next season, and having both him and Mosher here, if Lafleur is gone. Having two solid goaltenders will take a lot of pressure off of Mosher so he won't have to be completely thrust into the #1 position. Then the following season bring in a rookie to backup Mosher.
What do I know though? I had Mosher pegged as #2 this season for sure...

I doubt PEI plans on dealing Gelinas...they want an adequate backup who can play every 8th or 9th game and not get embarassed, and also develop Mosher...best of both worlds.

I feel pretty confident that Main will be a defenseman for the season. I think that his play back there has earned him a top 4 spot, which makes him more valuable back there. As I see it Southorn, Lessard, Main, Gervais are the top 4. Swit seems to be a coaches favorite so I don't see him being pulled out of the lineup any nights which means in the coaches eyes he is a solid 5 at worst. Deighan has impressed the coaches and will continue to play nightly until he has a bad game, at which point Clow or Malouin will get some playing time. So....having said that, this is what I see for games played for the D.
Southorn 70 Lessard 70 Gervais 70 Main 70 Swit 70 Deighan 60 Clow 30 Malouin 30
I know those numbers don;t add up, but I am assuming injuries and such to get Clow and Malouin in more.
Thats just my opinion

"Miramichi received the rights to 17 year-old goaltender Evan Mosher, another St. John's resident, a draft pick of the Mariners in 2006. Mosher, a highly prized prospect of the PEI Rocket was released by recently by the Rocket so that he would get more playing time. While he may be recalled during the coming season, he is certainly in the Rocket's plans for 2008-09.'www.hockeyscene.com/
