Three games into the season, I am getting a feel for what is what with the Rocket. Its time for Savard and Jean to do the right thing and release Street and Clow.
Street has not even had a chance to put the jersey on yet, and thats just plain wrong. They should send him to the Abbies, let him get some playing time, and keep him to practice with them so when they are ready for him, he will be prepared.
As for Clow, kid has dressed twice...only because Deighan was hurt and Main played one game up front. Never saw a second of playing time against a team that they totally dominated last night and only a few shifts the game before. 8 D is too many for him to expect to get any playing time at all. Send him to Jr. A, and then try to trade him to someone that might use him at Christmas
Coaching 101.....a player has to play to develop. These guys are not going to adjust to the league as practice players.
Boys I feel for you....you both deserve better.

I agree Clow should have seen the ice last night. I know it's typical Jean treatment, but it's not as if we spent a ton of time shorthanded.
Too early yet to get rid of them.. it's only been 3 games.
Personally, I don't think Schmidt's addition is going to work out for us and I think his stay might be short (my opinion only). Street would be a prime canadidate to pick up some of his time.

How can a player progress when he;s not getting any ice time? "That" didn't go anywhere...lol and as i said in a thread down below, I herd that Street is gonna play some games with the Abbies this season.

How did Street and Clow perform in training camp? Exhibition games, etc. Any points, hits?

How did Street and Clow perform in training camp? Exhibition games, etc. Any points, hits? Clow had 4pts in 5 pre-season games. Street was held pointless in 4 pre-season games..unsure how much ice time he received.

Its not that I want these kids released, but we know Jean's history. Malouin only dressed for 20 something games last year....injuries and Southorns Canada Games trip was the only time he got in. With 8 D this year, its almost impossible for Clow to get a chance. Just let the kid go before he gets so discouraged that he quits the game altogether.
the whole problem is carrying a 25 man roster. most teams only carry 23. If Street gets some Jr A playing time, at least he will be better prepared for Major A. I am glad to hear that that seems to be the plan.
Its a virtual certainty that Savard will trade for other players....although probably marginally better ones...which drops them farther down the depth chart.

Not a chance of "releasing" these guys.. are you nuts? One is a second round pick this year and the other is a first round talent who gave up his NCAA to come play here this year.
I 100% agree with your sentiment that if they are dressed they must see the ice.. and the way Jean used his bench Wednesday was completely unacceptable IMO.. I do hope one of our young dmen and Swit are gone come xmas and a puck mover and a sniper are added to the lineup...
I have no problem with affiliating Street to the Abbies if that's the plan
I agree Schmidt seems unlikely to stay

I'm not sure they meant releasing as much as cutting them this season and keeping them on their protected list. But I agree that Clow gave up his NCAA eligibility to come play for the Rocket with ice time likely being one of the factors him coming here. To develop any player they have to play in the games. Having them sit in the stands for games and only practicing doesn't help their development, IMO there is a big difference between only practicing all the time and playing all the time. Jean has never been able to use his bench and use his players correctly.

I think some of you may have misinterpreted what I was trying to say. I think they should release them (not drop them from the protected list) so that they can get some playing time. Street is only 16, second round pick, let him play some Jr A and get a few games with the Rocket.
Clow is caught in a numbers game. He is Major A ready, but finds himself in a situation where he won't get to play. It has been mentioned that a 17 should be traded to get another scorer anyway, so send him to Jr A till the trading period...let him play, and trade him.
I would be more than happy to see both players stay with the Rocket. I believe in both of them, but we know the way Jean does things, they are not going to get much of a chance...so when I said do the right thing, I meant based on Jean's terrible bench management skills, don't torture the kids by keeping them there as practice players.
Hope that made sense!

Neither one is in the lineup again tonight.....and Street is from Newfoundland. Nice work Yannick! EVERY player cant get dressed each game. Parker is dressed on the blueline tonight.....reason why Clow is not. Abbies play tonight at 7:30........perhaps Street in playing with them.

Thats my point exactly. Theres no room for him there. Why is this so hard for people to comprehend. You may as well say that in the 1st 4 games hes played in one....cause the last one does not count...and the ONLY reason that he was dressed the past 2 is because Deighan was hurt.
As for Street, I will reserve my comments for when I see the Abbies lineup

That means 1-2 Dman sit each game..........and Clow is the going to get rotated in/out of the lineup. This is the 4th game..........

This is the 4th game.....and was Malouin rotated in and out last season? NO!! He filled in when others were injured, away, or suspended. I am not trying to be an ass here but you have to look at history. Yannick will ice the best available players in each game. Hes fighting to save his job.
