i dont think it is watching each others backs at all. it is common sense to have a french speaking , or i should say bilingual coach. Common sense would also indicate that someone is put behind the bench that is actually capable of coaching the team....we haven't seen this from Jean yet......

Does it mattter that the coach couldn't speak French?? The assistant speaks French and he would translate if needed. Like I said I don't care who it is.....but this team is in trouble and need help fast. Savard has to see that this is not a good situation and he must act on it now while it is still early. Please don't wait til we are on a 13 game losing streak. This hockey team is not interested in playing for this guy, plain and simple.

Something I found out today, former Rocket assistant coach Jason Malone, will be suiting up for the UPEI Panthers this upcoming season.

Something I found out today, former Rocket assistant coach Jason Malone, will be suiting up for the UPEI Panthers this upcoming season. It is also note worthy that Travis Mealy is playing for the Panthers. I liked his play with the Rocket. Has a great shot from the point and controls the puck well. Greg O'Brien is also listed on the roster. www.upei.ca/mhockey/rosterUPEI's home game schedule has very few conflicts with Rocket home games this year. Last year there were so many conflicts I hardly saw any UPEI games. Here is a link to their schedule for anyone who is interested: www.upei.ca/athletics/schedules#mhockey

How sweet would it be if Savard Sr could lure away Jacques Demers from RDS?

Would be unreal..... But, I think as well as RDS, Demers has a really good thing going with his work on literacy campaigns. Love to see it.... I'll keep on dreaming. cb How sweet would it be if Savard Sr could lure away Jacques Demers from RDS?

Perhaps with his work in Literacy he could help Savard read the writing on the wall...

It was announced on the radio tonight that Serge met with the city of Charlottetown today and assured them he was not planning on moving the team....just as we had already heard. BUT.....he also announced that he has no plans to make a coaching change!!

gawd.... everytime i think of Savard meeting with the city i just cringe. I have ZERO faith in cityhall. Less then zero. Perhaps they will pass a motion to invest 10 or 15 grand into a consulting firm to prepare a report for city hall on the status of the rocket, which would be typical. I have a report for them and will only charge half that. here goes.. your coach blows and it is effecting the play on ice. Your marketing team blows and it is effecting the number of new fans your able to attract. getting rid of both will be a good place to start to fix this. I hope Savard had the balls to tell them to keep their noses out of his hockey team until he is late with his rent.

Perhaps with his work in Literacy he could help Savard read the writing on the wall... That is classic. If we can't get him, I am sure there are a lot of Atom, Peewee and Bantam coaches that could fill in. Frig, I was taught basic stuff in novice that the Rocket don't do... All it would take is a few basic systems, consistent lines and not shortening the bench to two lines in the first game of the regular season cuase you're scared for your life..

(fillin the blank) (A) Move, sell the Rocket (B) Make a coaching Change (C) Do anything to improve the quality of play (D) All of the Above It sure seems clear there is no plan. It was announced on the radio tonight that Serge met with the city of Charlottetown today and assured them he was not planning on moving the team....just as we had already heard. BUT.....he also announced that he has no plans to make a coaching change!! If this is what he said, it's not a surprise that he would say that he has no plans to make a coaching change, because really what is he going to say "I am thinking of firing Jean so I can bring in a new coach" while Jean is still here. Of course he is not going to say something like that before it would actually happen. I'm not saying it's inevitable that Savard is going to make such a change, but I can't see him or any other GM come out and publically say they are actively searching for a new coach while he already has a coach in place. But if Savard was indeed being totally serious about not making a coaching change, it will make me start to wonder if Savard is the right person for GM also. If he is happy with Jean's coaching so far and with the way the team is performing for him, then the Rocket has deeper issues than what was originally thought.
