As for what is needed, I think the Rocket need a bruising stay at home defencemen. The Pics were all over Lafleur and nothing was done. Someone in the mold of Bourdon. At least the Rocket have lots of players to wave around to get a decent return.

You and I know that but the owners son think that Swit is the answer was the answer this year and Lomanno was the answer last year. Need a new Coach/GM who is results orientated and has the capibility to build a competitive team.

heard from a rocket brass today while at the farmers market that "we have a team, they just aren't playing" ... Yeah and if you put skates on monkeys you'd have a team too. That is about the most disappointing comment I've ever heard attributed to team management! If someone in management said that they have no business in management. In a team sport, or any organization for that matter, if overall you have a group of individually talented people who have to work together to produce and they aren't productive then either the manager/coach doesn't understand what needs to be done or can not communicate and motivate. I had hoped that the organization had more insight. |

I've been reading this thread (and all the threads regarding Jean, Savard Jr, et all that have come before this one), I've stated my opinions, I've threatened action at games, and I have great empathy and compassion for my fellow Rocket fans. IT SUCKS BEING A ROCKET FAN RIGHT NOW!!!!!! This team sucks....the whole organization sucks!!!  But, I wonder.........  ......what the f^*$ is daddy Serge thinking? What steps has he taken to correct any of this? Isn't he the money behind the madness? Doesn't he control what goes on with this organization? I'm beginning to think that, maybe, he's the problem....not Jr. "Little" Serge, to his credit, has actually made some good deals....brought in players that, this year especially, should have the Rocket organization in a position that is anywhere but where it is now (last place....laughing stock of the division......you know the drill). I think that "Big" Serge needs to look down from whatever office building he sits in (if he indeed sits in an office building), and realize what is going on in that "little province that he, apparently, doesn't give a shit about" How embarrassinig it must be for the Savards, when other GM's and owners ask them "What's going on down there in PEI?" I'm thinking that if the Rocket don't do well the rest of this weekend, and no move has been made by management before Wednesday's home game, the paper bag is coming out. I would invite all posters to join me. |

Last game I bought a brand new jersey and wore it inside out and I'd begun to think a bonfire nite at the CCC might be in order and burn the new jesrsey but maybe I'll save that for some cold night in January if things have not improved by then. |

The need of a skilled Dman is still the tops of the list IMO.
Try to grab a 18/19 yr old Dman with skill at the deadline and it will help out the Dzone coverage bigtime.
Drew Paris is a player that many teams will be looking at, and should be a player in the league next season IMO as a 20.

Good call Score. Picking up Drew Paris would be a big step toward fixing that team of yours. Only problem is you can't get him until the Xmas trading period and how far back will you guys be by that time? How long will you fans tolerate what is happening right now? I don't think you guys can wait until Xmas to fix things considering the expectations on your team this year. I personally am still surprised with how bad things are for PEI right now. I had you guys as finishing 4th, at worst.
I think I'd hold onto Jean for a while, as odd as that sounds. Fire him in early November. Hire a coach the players like. Then they should be able to play inspired hockey until the trade period. Get Drew Paris and another D-man in that window. Then you guys should be very tough even for the best of teams in the second half.
Granted as a Sea Dogs fan I hope you do none of this, but that's what I'd try in your shoes.

The team doesn't suck This rocket team could possibly be the best team in the league IF they wanted to be And they could do it easily they have the offense They have a goalie IF he Decides to play good the defense will come. The team doesn't suck at all. the team is very talented and could shut down every team in this league if they wanted to play the game right.
