The Rocket won't have 4 17 year old D after Christmas. Clow or Malouin will be traded as part of a deal to get someone else.

Is Bryan Main not also listed as a forward. He's awesome on the fore check,a great hitter and he has offensive skills. He's done the job at defense too but I'm hoping it's not permanent.I would like to see him get some more time up front. From what I've seen this season he's probably the team's most consistent player.

Don't see him going back to forward. They want to strengthen their D, and that means one of the weakest will be replaced if they make a change

Leave Main up front he makes a great impact. He's one of the few guys we have who consistently finishes his checks.
Lessard Clow Southorn Deighan Gervais Malouin/Lessard/Southorn
I think these pairs will work if Jean can give them some time together.
We need to have at least one guy in each pair who can skate with the puck. It will create room because the guy checking will have to commit to play you or cut off the lane and there's gonna be an opening the trick is to teach the kid to see the opening and get the forwards to watch the other teams fore check and move so that the guy carrying the puck has on outlet or worst case can dump it to neutral ice where there is a forward in a strong position not always sitting flat footed behind their check along the boards hoping the puck comes through, but I digress.
Lessard has not hit his potential this year but last year for the first half he was paired with Guilbeault a lot who was a solid stay at home guy who could cover as and when needed.
I think Clow has that potential. I think he's pretty solid on positional play, can make the first pass if he's told to do it instead of just blindly firing the the puck off the boards. His draw back is at 17 he's not as strong as some of the older guys he's up against but if gets good position he can cut of the lanes and force the play more.
Southorn coughed it up a couple times on the weekend but he's a young guy who wants to free wheel a bit and he needs to be given the green light but he's got to be told in no uncertain terms when he's the last man pass it or shoot it.
I see Deighan as another solid positional guy who needs better instruction and to be told that he's going to be the guy on this pair that we're depending on the back up Southorn because he's gonna make mistakes and cough it up or get picked off and we're depending on you to pick up the pieces. To generate offense there is some risks that get taken but with a solid D in good position when the puck is turned over or picked off Deighan either makes the check or forces a shot from an angle that gives the goalie a chance.
As for Gervais I may be giving him the short end of the stick because I have him working with Malouin. I see him as the best guy to try and teach Malouin who needs to develop a bit of an edge. I think Malouin is lagging So I'd expect to see Malouin dressed but not playing every third shift and pair Gervais up with Southorn and Lessard to fill in the gaps when malouin is sitting.

Clow will get ice time, and I really think we'll see Malouin gone at the deadline.
Clow-17 Southy-17 Deighan-17
All have more upside then Malouin.
