You can multi-purpose-buy and address immediate and future needs. Agreed. I've been saying that since the season started due to the assets we have to play with. The person finding the most grief in that statement is still supposed to be a month away from having an opinion but really wants to have it both ways and have the ability to have no opinion while challenging others then whine when he has an opinion that is too early, using his own logic, to have which oddly enough is essentially the same opinion he's still laughing at today. lol indeed

#1 jackass? Look in the mirror. lol. #2 chased me around for saying that it could change by Christmas should actually read "said that waiting until Xmas to make any decisions is insane" as that's what I actually said. If you're going to respond to me, could you actually respond to the words that I say rather than the conclusions you've came to on your own? lol. Why should it read what you said if the quote is about what I said? Or is that another reading comprehension fail? I suppose Dumont is insane though since it's getting close to the window and he has said he still doesn't know which way they're going. Most GM's speak in tongues during interviews as that's how they're trained to handle the press. What he says about his team holds more weight with me then his direction. The direction will be proven in his moves that are made which have probably been discussions going on for months now. His teams direction on the ice however is not dependent on what he does it's dependent on how his team plays, thus the more interest in what he says about what he has vs what he's not saying about what he wants. Your knowledge of the google image search helps add to the argument though. lol (no?)

This is also where others step in to request the conversation end. Yet again I was forced to defend my own stance when someone won't let it go.
He, as usual, can have the last word in this thread out of my respect for others not wanting to read the back and forth and pollute threads with our comments and intricate use of the google image search engine feature.

Leask is absolutely right. And James, leask is saying what jack has been saying all along, 2 year players are needed. We have a boat load of picks/assets. In my opinion waiting until off season is risky because the guy you want may be available at Xmas, and not at the draft. IF the deals are there and we have to overpay a bit, I'd be okay with that.
Obviously this year is a dissapointmemt but we still have time to pull it together. So yes, I want two year guys brought in and the posion guys gone, and see what happens. Going into the playoffs as an underdog/mid to low seed may not turn out that bad, and brings experience to a big returning core for next year.
If Darcy is the cancer and doesn't pull his head out of his ass, then get what you can for him I guess, which I don't think is a whole lot with his play so far.
But the obvious change is goaltending, and Sullivan is not the answer. The horse is dead and buried. I'm with most that have said Marchand being shipped out was his biggest mistake.
Have to believe the Xmas period will be a busy one for us. There are guys that need a change of scenary. Really hope its just a smokescreen Dumont has up about the way he speaks of this team.

Dumont has been pretty upfront about the direction of the team since Day 1. If he says he still hasn't made a decision, I have no reason not to believe him. Based on everything this season from the make up of the team to the place in the standings, it's extremely believable that he hasn't made a decision yet and there is no need for him to make a decision yet. If he decided 2 months ago that he wasn't going to buy and he gets an amazing offer that brings in a quality 2 year player, I'm sure he'd pull the trigger if he felt it made the team better. If he decided 2 months ago that he was going to buy but the team is in last place & the market is terrible, I'd hope he wouldn't make a bad trade just so he could say he was "buying" I'll definitely take his word for it > the word of an anonymous forum poster that has 0 first hand knowledge of what is actually going on. (insert lol here) You're truly delusional. You asked me about Svechnikov being drafted and then went on a rant directed at me because I responded to someone else who made a joke. Hell of a defense you self righteous douchebag.

The exchange between me & Jack was never about what Jack has been saying all along lol he was always ripping me apart for saying that a lot can change between the day Darcy was sent back & Christmas and my opinion on buying this year would be determined by what happened in that time frame. I said all along that there are probably trades that could be done this Christmas that were "buying" or "selling" that could make sense & I could get behind some of them, but the idea of me not leaning one way or the other 3 months before the trade window opened wasn't good enough for JB. If it was only about the 2 year player garbage, he could have read those parts of my posts and be done with it... but it wasn't. It was about him not accepting that I wouldn't lean one way or the other before the decisions were to be made. How dare I eh?
