How many times does Savard need to address that issue? I believe he has done so already this season did he not? yes he did address this. was it right around the time he said he wasn't planning a coaching change? Yet told Jean during camp he was toast?

in here most people seem to know how to win , so why wouldnt they tell serge (unless they are afraid of the man) what they think and tell him their systems and lines to make the rocket a winning team.....whats the worst that could happen?....maybe one of us might get a coaching job....

I understand where you are coming from, but I just think that with the attendance dropping, the team losing fans every year, why not get out of the owner's box and find out for yourself why people are not coming to the games as much as they used to.

I think we all know why their is less fan support then when the team first arrived. Game day experience is crap....if they do anything during the intermissions it lasts all about 2-3 mins....if that. So put that with a losing team and you aren't going to get many fans going to the game. Just look at the die hard fans and you will know that the rink is not the happiest place to be at the moment. Honestly I can't get into this season at all....and that is pretty bad for me. I find myself wanting to stay home and not even bother going to the rink and if anybody knows me they would think I must be sick if I am wanting to pass up a chance to go to the rink and watch a game. It is just so damn boring, honestly it is.....not just the game itself but game day itself. Make the rink a more exciting place to go to, do some fun stuff during intermission so we dont just sit there being bored. We also need to stop blowing big leads and losing the game because of it....that aint going to help attendance much. I have always said that if a team gives their all each game and still loses then that is fine, but if a team doesn't play a full 60 min hockey game and doesnt play as team and doesn't give their all then it pisses me off.

as a season ticket holder since day one of the rocket coming here, between period entertainment means very little to me and certainly would not ever cause me to decide to not go to a game
furthermore anyone who doesnt go to games because they felt bored during intermission... is not a hockey fan.. now i'm not saying they shouldn't try and find something to do between periods but it's pretty low on the totem pole
give me a hard working, energetic hockey club and you can have senior citizen ice fishing as intermision entertainment for all i care
what people don't like however is feeling like they've been lied to or taken for granted.. that is what causes season ticket holders to decide not to renew....
having said all that i dont blame serge for not walking around the rink right now.. i doubt many people would have much good to say to him... have faith people.. give Chouinard some time

Who really goes to a hockey game for the intermission activities? Unless you're 10 or under, the intermission activites should not be something to get all upset about...............

I never said that was the reason I was bored, Im bored because the hockey seems boring to me.....because alot of the games so far this season it didnt seem like the team was trying....and to me that is boring. If they played 100% for the full 60 mins then it wouldnt be bad, but when they are floating around, not playing as a team, blowing 4 goal leads...it is boring and so damn frustrating...sorry but it is. Would I not get season tickets because of intermission crap, uhh no....but if I am renewing year after year and the same thing happens year after year then yes it does get frustrating and I dont blame the fans for not wanting to come back....
As far as Serge is concerned I really dont care if he mingles with the fans or not....I dont think him talking to fans is really going to make any difference whatsoever.

I am not the usual person to defend Serge but I have seen him out of the box and I have talked to him but as far as I can tell by watching Serge he is very concerned about the teams on ice product and that is what he is looking at. Can you image what somebody would say to him after the Rocket go out a play one of those great 1st periods I am sure he already knows how they are playing and does not need some fan yelling at him. Serge is a decent guy who is worried about the on ice product the biggest problem is that he has put his trust in someone who knows nothing about marketing. Lets think about it how many GM do you see walking through the crowd. The best thing for Serge to do is get someone who can market the experience at the rink so more fans would come to a game and maybe come back, I am sure Serge is trying to get a better on ice product as we speak.

Unfortunately for you diehard Rocket fans you are stuck with this type of team. If Serge Savard Jr was the GM of any other Q team he would have been fired several years ago ... his constant ineptness will continue to hold you back.
Savard doesn't seem to be able to see the holes in your lineup before they are glaringly obvious. He has made a few good trades over the last few seasons ... but also too many bad trades and too many bad decisions. He is very reactionary instead of being proactive.
Savard is not in his job position because he is a shrewd hockey person ... he is in that position because his father owns the team ... and that is the way it will always be unless his father realizes that the business could be stronger if a new guy was running the show ... can't see him firing his son though.
If Savard told Jean they weren't renewing his contract back in training camp ... then that is just another big mistake by Savard. If we knew that back then ... we could have all predicted the poor start to the season. What incentive does Jean have to work his ass off to improve the team under that scenario ? He might as well tank the year ... get fired ... and get a paid vacation for the rest of the year. Not the most ethical approach ... but I don't think Jean was high on ethics to start.
Somebody should write a letter to the editor stating all of this ... keep it clean ... don't exaggerate ... don't put in any rumours ... keep it factual ... and they will print it. Ask that Savard step down as GM as he has proven year after year that he cannot do the job.
The long term problems with the Rocket are not coaching related ... never have been ... never will be.

A letter to the editor means people have to put their REAL NAME on it and not ba able to hide under an alias like they do when they post comments to the newspaper website or on here.
The regulars on here know my real ident, so I try to choose my words carefully.

Does DHO equal GM? Or does President equal GM? Or are they both GMs now? ¿Que pasa?

Director of Hockey Operations is GM......president means you look over the overall picture.....i.e. sales, sponsors, tickets, etc., etc. Started a seperate thread for this one.
