We made the playoffs the year prior too walee
however last year we were expected to be a top 5-6 team and at least win one round of playoffs.. but we did not
and i am not saying someday he might not be qualified to be a coach in the Q.. but i maintain strongly he was not ready when we hired him
we showed no real improvement ... players got older but didn't get better and the same mistakes were made repeatedly
being a head coach means you will take shit.. comes with the job... period
but i've also maintained for years that the management of the team has been questionable as well.. and you always came in with your romper room happiness ... now suddenly things have changed.. it's ok walee.. welcome to the dark side

Wallee you may think that people have been unfair with Jean, but isn't it also a bit unfair to put most of the blame on the players and none on Jean as you are suggesting? Since Jean arrived, Savard got rid of players that didn't get along with Jean and brought in players that Jean wanted, so it's not like Jean had no say in what players he wanted or didn't want.
In the 2+ seasons that Jean has been here, he has had conflicts and problems with players. I'm not saying the players are blameless but the one constant in those conflicts is Jean, bit unfair to say that he is blameless in all of those problems and it's all the player's fault. From what I was told Jean didn't have respect of his players in any of the years he was here, not sure who is to blame or what but that is not a healthy atmosphere in any dressing room. Players don't have to like their coach, but there has to be respect between coach and players that has to go both ways and Jean didn't have that. How many times do they have to change the players to get that respect?
Nobobody said that all the blame should fall on Jean's shoulders, but he shouldn't be blameless either. Jean is gone and time will tell about which players stay, but either way Jean is not coming back and IMO it's time for the players and everybody to move on and go forward.

I want it to be clear Old Gay One that I truly believe that Pascal is a smart Hockey Guy.He will probably someday be a GM at a higher level "BUT" he has yet to prove that he can get a Team to the Finals as a "COACH" ! Name one coach in the Q that has been with the same team for the same lenght of time ,while keeping his job/jobs but has delivered no Championships or trips to the Q Finals. There is a feeling that if he truly wants a title on the Island then he should be a full time GM and someone else should be the Head Coach. The reason why it is not front and center this year is because we are the #1 Team in the country and for that we are grateful. We don't have "Crystal Balls" here on our fair Island so we will never know if we would be enjoying this sucess if Pascal was just a GM and say Durocher was Head Coach.Last Year was one thing but 2004 was another thing all together. This Year's Team doesn't have near as much talent as that Team but they have chemistry and they really do care about each other. They are a true Team by definition. In 2004 the #1 Team in the Country went out in their first round of the Playoffs in 5 games yet Management stayed in tact. The Owner took the blame and that never did sit well with the Masses.I always enjoy your posts Gay Bois so please continue your direct and to the point style !

...well somebody ahd to say it first. Funny coming from a fan from Moncton.........especially when Flynn is doing such a great job too. Anyway, pointing the finger at Chouinard is pretty premature. Score...you hit the nail on the head....Moncton fans have enough to worry about than to concern themselves with our issues. Why is it funny coming from a Moncton fan? As far as I know nobody was going on about this being a "big year" for the Wildcats like it was supposed to be for the Rocket. Comparing Moncton and PEI is like comparing apples and oranges in this case. Moncton was predicted by most to be anywhere from middle of the pack to the bottom of the standings, while PEI was thought to be a title contender or at least in the top part of the standings. Yes the Cats had a very disappointing month of October but in the grand scheme of things still not as big of a disappointment as the Rocket have been this season. On paper the Rocket should be ahead of the Wildcats by a fair amount, and since it's only the start of November they still could be when it's all said and done. But since you seem to want to compare right now... Danny Flynn and the Wildcats are 3-2 in their last 5 games. How are the Rocket doing?

Score...you hit the nail on the head....Moncton fans have enough to worry about than to concern themselves with our issues. Why would we have anything to worry about ? We are coming off 5 seasons in a row in the Top 5 of the Q. Name another team that has been in the top third of the Q for that long ? It is time to rebuild in Moncton ... and that is what we are doing. Nothing to worry about ... just lower the expectations and watch the players develop. Moncton fans are confident their team will be here next year and the year after ... are PEI fans ?

This team will be here for some time....I'm confident of that anyhow. This whole thread was made by Billy to shit disturb, and it looks as though he succeeded. This franchise has just turned the corner, onto the better side. Even if it does not seem so right at the moment. Guy will make this a team a "team", and make it a winning team. Just may not be as fast as some want.
