Didn't quite understand it myself, I was kind of hoping someone else might have had some insight. That's just what I heard.
Most likely he's sick or injured would have been my guess.

He was definitely a healthy scratch and yet he was one of the brighter spots on that horrible night. It must have been something that happened during practice.

Most likely he's sick or injured would have been my guess. I understand he was a healthy scratch. Just a guess, but both DesRoches and Coon-Come saw time centering lines last night. I expect Chouinard wants to get a look at Coon-Come and DesRoches in game situations to either (1)make a decision as to who is kept in December or (2) to see if these two are ready to play if we move one or more of Morrison, Lachaine, or Locke.

I never did understand why this team seems to be so high on certain players that obviously have no place on this team, while others who you know would put forth a better effort and might shake things up, never even get a chance ....

Over heard Locke telling someone at the rink that he was a healthy scratch. He wasn't very impressed. I don't blame him. 19 year old scratched so the coach can get a look at other players in a game situation. I could think of 3 or 4 other players that could have been scratched and let Locke play. I think he earned it . Could be a sign of things to come at Christmas time. 19 year old playing 3rd and 4th line or being scratched. Hmmmmmm

The coach is the dictator and the players had their coup already this season. Lock should not be flapping his gums at the rink. He needs to put on a happy face in the stands and more importantly with his team mates. He's 19 and should suck it up and be a leader and work hard when asked. His contribution was to give someone else a shot last night.

I had high hopes for Locke when he was drafted by the Rocket. Like so many before him he is going to get shafted. This guy is 19 years old and should be seeing more ice than he is. Lets see, he will get moved at christmas and another team will give him the opportunity he deserves and he will start lighting up the score board. I agree with queenbee when he/she says that some players just aren't given a chance.

Locke is playing like a 4th liner. Look at his stats. If he's playing like a 4th liner, he should expect 4th line treatment. That includes a few games in a suit..... like Paynter, Cliche (I know, he's rarely out), DesRoches... Coon-Come should be here too... but he's always managed to find a way in.

The problem with the timing is Locke played arguably his best game in two seasons (and was one of only 2-3 Rocket players who played well at all versus BC) and the next game he's a scratch.... that's a terrible message IMO
Locke will get dealt but we won't get any value for him now.. I'd say NFLD might take a flyer on him as a local kid
