Rocket needs to 'show up' for game
Hosts Wildcats after 10-goal thrashing against Sea Dogs

It was a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game for the record book.
The Saint John Sea Dogs’ book, that is, as they set a new team record for goals in one game with a 10-3 win over the P.E.I. Rocket Sunday in Saint John.
So with that in mind, the Rocket wants to avoid setting another mark tonight against the Moncton Wildcats (7 p.m., Civic Centre) — namely allowing the Wildcats to top its infamous 13-4 massacre of P.E.I. on Oct. 15, 2005, in Moncton.
“(Tonight) so far is the biggest game of the season. It’s a team that we’re chasing. We do have games in hand, but we still have to win those games,” Rocket head coach Guy Chouinard said Monday night. “If you don’t show up for that game, it’s a bad sign.”
Moncton (11-17-2-3) has played five more games than P.E.I. (12-15-1).
Neither team is on fire, but P.E.I. is the warmer of the two, as it has won five of its last 10 games and four of seven while Moncton is 2-6-1-1 in it last 10 contests.
Granted, the Sea Dogs are solid this season, but, for Chouinard, the beating boiled down less to talent than a dearth of Rocket consistency in practice and games.
“We had an hour practice on Saturday and we had to stop practice . . . I made a joke and said ‘are we going to order the rings or what’s the deal?’ There’s a price to pay to be a good team and there’s a price to pay to be a consistent team and there’s a price to pay to be a team that competes every night.
“It doesn’t matter if your 20 or 16 or 18 you have to learn that and right now we’re in, I guess, a learning process.”
Rocket goaltender Marc-Antoine Gélinas (6-4) gets his fourth straight start tonight.
