rockon not sure if you are Latal himself, a friend of Marty or his billet perhaps.... but you seem to be the only one who doesn't see how badly Marty is playing right now..... speed is a very nice asset to have but it isn't the only thing that makes the game exciting.. if it was Rico Fata would have been a superstar
Latal's play is bringing his linemates down... he can't buy a goal, his passes are off the mark, he's turning the puck over way too much and then getting frustrated and taking silly penalties.... I don't know what is up with him but I can't believe the coaching change has effected him this much...
I hope the experience of the WJC rights whatever is wrong with him.... if not a trade perhaps might

Not sure what's going on with Marty, but as you said, his passes are not even connecting. I think he's a player that will be hard to trade, being a 19yr old Euro, so hopefully his time at the WJC which is in his home Country will wake him up and he'll come back in a better mindset.

I don't know if I would go as far as saying Latal is bringing his linemates down, but he surely isn't contibuting the way he can and should. To me, it looks like his head isn't in the game on most nights, which often leaves him looking uninterested.
He came back from Phoenix on fire and was easily one of the best players through the first few weeks of the season. Since the coaching change though, he doesn't appear to have the same confidence in his ability. Maybe there is a clash there, who knows....
It's too bad really, because he is one of the more talented players on the team, and is a much better than he's been showing recently. At this point, heading off to the WJC and playing for his country can only be a good thing.

I can assure you that I'm none of the above, but a fan(like many others) who appreciates what someone like Latal can(and has) bring to the game. Try asking some of the kids in the stands who they like watching the most. I do agree that he's in a bad slump, but doesn't justify your negative comments !

What negative comments? I speak the truth
There's nobody on the Rocket I like watching better when he's on then Marty either.... but that doesn't mean I gotta put my blinders on when it comes to his play.. you said the eastlink announcers were getting desperate to make a statement like his play is bringing his linemates down.. and I responded that I see the same thing right now and hope his time away rights whatever is bugging him
I can't understand how a player can go from dominant to detriment that quickly
last year at times he struggled to put points on the board as well but he made things happen every shift ... right now he makes nothing happen at all

Latal is playing like shit Period. He caused a couple of goals its like he doesn't even want to play I don't know where these players get off with these egos Doyle along with latal both have huge egos and need to smarten the hell up before latal is back in the euro league and doyle going no where no one wants egos on their team. They need to start playing with the other guys and not vs them and not all in it for them selves I Very rarely see Doyle pass the puck when he is in the zone a couple of 2 on 1's and he shot when there was a better chance to pass couple of times missed the net. If these 2 players actually show up to the rink and play then they will be unstoppable

Puchold, Huskies number two euro goaler is out of the line-up for now to give Denoncourt a try out. If its going well, i would love to have Latal in the Huskies line up. Not to much expensive, a fourth ronder will be good, what do you think ?

Apparently not.....I believe we've already been down that road and I wish some people would pay attention to the subject and content of these posts before they decide to provide an update. I was merely trying to provide an update on Latal's progress at the WJC.

I'm not saying whether I am of the same opinion of Junior or not, but who said his post was in response or had anything to do with your update on Latal? He didn't reference your post anywhere in his and he didn't quote it either. There have been lots of posts in this thread where people have given their opinion on Latal, including you, so why shouldn't he be allowed to do the same? Just because his opinion is different than yours doesn't mean he isn't allowed to express it or that he isn't allowed to express it in a thread where you think it doesn't belong.

I believe that we have already discussed this before, this is no place for "player bashing”.

I was referring to the subject of the thread "Re: Congrats to Latal!!" and these comments have nothing to do this thread what so ever. I believe that we have already discussed this before, this is no place for "player bashing”. All he said was that these players weren't playing well and why he felt they weren't. I know that Junior doesn't put things in the most eloquent way but he has been posting that way before I started visiting these boards and well long before you started posting on here. He has been making these kinds of points for a long time about players, but now that he said something about Latal you say he is bashing. You say these comments have nothing to do with the thread title, there have been other comments about Latal in this thread that had nothing to do with the title either and some of these were made by you. Sure alot of them were positive, but if we can only discuss and point out positive things, which seems like what you want everyone to do, what's the point of discussing things if you want to filter out some of our opinions. You want to talk about bashing and criticizing, what do you think you are doing when you criticize other posters for their opinions? Looking back at your last dozen or so posts, you have made more posts and comments about what other people are saying than there is about hockey. You went as far to post the rules one time and if I remember correctly one of those rules is be tolerant of your fellow posters because there are varying opinions. I may be stepping on a few toes with this post and I may be stepping over the line but if you don't like what someone says or do not agree with it, you can always move on to the next post or thread without having to point out every post that you don't like or agree with.
