Wiederer to Rouyn is really the only way I see him being traded. It's not that unrealistic of a possibility either. What other European player might the Huskies look to go after? If Chicoutimi decides to sell then Zhukenov could be an option, but that's really about it. The teams in the bottom half of the standings generally all have Euro's that would be back next season. How often have we seen a 20 YO Euro traded at Xmas ?

Chicoutimi hasn't had much success and is probably desperate to have a bit of a run, don't see them selling which would be good news for the Cats in this case.

I think the two guys would be Yakov Trenin and Dmitry Zhukenov. I think it would be better for RN to get a 19 year old Euro so that they could fill the 20 spot with a another good player but you never know. I am more concerned that winning two games out of 3 will make the Wildcats brass decide to try and make the playoffs and not trade anyone. I have no problem with them keeping Wiederer as long as they trade about 4 of the 19 year olds for assets.

How often have we seen a 20 YO Euro traded at Xmas ? It's happened a few times. BBA had one a couple years back and they were one of the top teams in the Q. That being said, I see Weiderer as more of a leader that stays all year and helps the young guys while the Klimas and Askew get traded.

That's basically what it boils down to...the need a big infusion of young, high upside players, that won't happen with status quo at midseason plus Shannon trading back from round 1 and ending up with 4 5th round picks and 5 6th round picks to draft 4-5 guys that won't show up.

That's the Quebec only list. Shannon is waiting to see who tops the '145lb healthy scratches from Nackawic to Jemseg' list.

It is the Quebec only list. The top 25 Atlantic will be up after the Monctonian (Thursday-Sunday this week).
If you get a few hours it's a good opportunity to check out some top talent. I know Cole Stewart from the Moncton AAA Flyers is supposed to be pretty damn good.

He was the consensus 2017 #1 overall pick for a couple years now.

Neil Hodge has posted an online article with a quote from Roger Shannon that is a clear indicator a full rebuild is near.
"We're looking forward to some possible changes in the trade period. Unfortunately, these changes may see some guys leave that are close to us in terms of fans and the organization".

I'm not holding my breath. I think they will move bower, cormier, maybe weiderer. holwell and askew aren't going anywhere as of now. owner won't allow it.

What woukd Askew cost the Islanders at.xmas? I hope a guy like PO Joseph as a future at the draft. But probably Boudrias and a pick.

The owner won't allow a team that's currently out of a playoff spot to move arguably it's two best trade chips? That doesn't even begin to make a shred of sense. We shall see, but he's really lost it if that's the case.
