I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of the 16 year olds sit it out if they feel they are not in the mix for a spot on the team this year - keep their NCAA option open for another year similar to what Webster and McGaw did last year. Some of the older guys who still have their NCAA may also avoid games unless/until they are guaranteed a spot - Zimmerman, Musico, Kuzmin, C. McKenna, Lewis, etc ... if it was my kid, I would advise to keep their options open as long as possible ...

Kids that are 18 or 19 with no NCAA scholarship, you're better off playing in the Q and getting education money and playing CIS. Usually only the elite players get full rides anyways...

I don't disagree ... but there is a gap between playing in the Q and playing in a rookie tournament or early pre-season game ... I don't think I would toss my eligibility unless I knew the NCAA route was 100% closed unless I felt that I was at least a serious contender for a roster spot ... no sense coming to Moncton, playing one game in the rookie tournament, being cut on Monday, and losing your eligibility in the process - though I agree that the older you are without NCAA interest, the more likely that this may be the best opportunity you are going to get ...

Gaudreault(16) MacDonald(17) Rose(17) Grant(18) NCAA? Paradis, he is the 16 year old goalie Moncton drafted this year. I think Gaudreault is 17 but also drafted this year.

Gaudreault is a 2000, was eligible to be drafted in 2016, but wasn't. You guys drafted him this year.

Are the cats short on rookies? Why is Dicaire playing? Cause he is most definetly on the bubble in terms of a roster spot. If he can't impress with rookies there is no sense taking him to main camp.

Guys that stood out today...
Arsenault had a very strong game, granted, he is 18 and CB only had 16 and 17 year olds dressed. Bellamy had a good game, though he'll need a bit more structure in his game. Pelletier had a hard time getting anything going, made a few plays but not a lot. McKenna had a nice goal and strong cycle player, could fit in the bottom of the roster, good size and speed. Tucker was solid on D, not dominant but not a lot of mistakes. Vanier has good tools but will need another year MAAA to get quicker. Dicaire predictably looked good against younger guys. Might help his trade value... MacDonald gave up a couple of softies 5 hole. Hudson was his agitating self, ideal fit as #4 C this year.

I am just getting back to Moncton and haven't been out to see any practices etc...kids like Grandmaison,Lewis etc....
