Its been announced there will be a new 50 cent per ticket fee in the new building, for all tickets/all events. This is is SMG driven. Season ticket holders will have this fee waived for the first 2 years & cut in half the next 2 and will start paying full price after 4 seasons. What will you do with your $17 a year in savings? Here's how the motion that was passed last night reads: "That the Operations and Maintenance Agreement between the City of Moncton and SMG Canada ULC be amended to waive the “City Ticket fee” for the first two years of operation on all season tickets sold for the Moncton Wildcats home games, after which a graduated increase will be implemented as follows: 0 in years 1 and 2, 25 cents in years 3 and 4, with the full fee of 50 cents being applied in year five, and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same and affix the Corporate Seal of the City of Moncton thereto."
Yea, $17 per season for the 1st two seasons. I'm assuming that "season tickets" excludes playoff tickets. It sounds like this "City Ticket Fee" will go in the coffers of the City with no specific plan for it yet. Here's a portion of today's T & T article referring to it. "The motion came to council Monday following a private meeting Dec. 4 last year.
In a full year of operation, the revenue to the city from all tickets sold by SMG in the facility is estimated to reach as much as $400,000 from the fee, the city report states.
Dallaire said the city is still considering how to use the 50 cent ticket fee revenue.
“It is an important fund that we’ll be able to utilize to ensure long-term maintenance for the centre,”she said.
Ticket prices will be released at the end of the month, Jenner said, adding the organization hasn’t raised season ticket prices in seven years."And it sounds like Jenner is softening up the STHs for increase in prices.

New rink looks awesome in the pictures however the only problem I see with it and you guys most likely as well. I was over for the game on Saturday and it was so easy to get parked lots of room and easy get out and get on the Highway and your gone. I would think its going to be pretty tight downtown when the rink clears out might be a big headache. Almost would have been better to tear down the Coliseum and build the rink there cause I wonder what they are going to do with the Coliseum awful big building to to have sitting there for a couple shows a year.

I would say they have shows and either venue or both at least 25 weekends a year, with the WC moving downtown, I assume they would go after more. With the Agrena attached, the building is twice the size of the new one for trade shows, so it works better that way. Moncton is very central for the Maritimes to get people from outside. I assume the new CS will be used for concerts going forward. As far as I know the Coliseum will still be used as a rink and maybe also for the NBL team?

“We have also had some very positive meetings with private lot owners - there is parking! We are looking to get parking pass options out as soon as we can. The intention is that you will have options to buy a pass for a specific lot that way you will know where you are parking each night. There are lots as close as across the street and many within one block of the building. We want to ensure our season seat members are taken care of first prior to looking at what lots will be available for nightly games and events. “
Quote taken from email release to STH today on play-off packages and upcoming move to new facility. It is going to be interesting to see factoring in extra for STH fees at new facility + pass purchase at private lots around the Centre. Note comment on what lots will be available for nightly games...

Centre is ahead of schedule and under budget according to the Times and Transcript ... will be putting ice in soon to test the equipment ... will only have it in for a short while then will take it out again. Wonder if anyone will get to use it while it is in? Might spice up an otherwise regular late season practice for the Cats ...

Imagine if the world we lived in was the negative reality 97% of online comments seem to paint it as? I've been trying to read less randomness lately out there and stick to traditional sources for info while ignoring most online opinion comments and it does make a difference in how I view things. Especially politically with our climate becoming wayyyy too American for me where everyone is FOR or AGAINST every-single-thing with no middle ground.

Not trying to be a smart ass - I really have no idea ...

Spray layers with a hose I assume they don't use zamobis to flatten it, just want to know if it will freeze properly...
