Huge opportunity for Colton McKenna. Playing on the top line with Tessier and MacDonald.
Riley MacRae in tonight. Playing with Blackmore and Hudson on the 4th line.
Kuzmin is a healthy scratch.

Rumble seems to have it out for Kuzmin. I like his game lately creating chances for MacDonald and Tessier. weird that he is a scratched unless he is sick or injured?

They are probably just keeping the seat warm for Khovanov on that line. 😉

Another ugly game defensively, Grametbauer seems to be wearing down after playing great early on.
Will be funny to see the Cats listed 1st overall...with a negative GF GA!!

So he goes from a great performance friday to."wearing down" 4 days later? He didn't even play sunday. Sometimes goalies just have bad games. Inconsistency is very common in junior hockey. Might need a bigger sample with a team that is still struggling defensively to make a conclusion like that. So often people on these boards are reactionary to a couple bad games. Same thing with MacDonald. Currently back to a point per game pace and on track for 30 goals but a week ago some posters were questioning the trade.

Hes certainly not perfect and has made plenty of nental mistakes so far but hes still only 17. He was not aquired for his defensive abilities so not really sure what the point of your post even is.

Heh...I remember when this was a post in every game thread 10-15 years ago. Now when you see a fight in the summary you think "oooh I wonder what caused that?"

You made comment on his pace for 30 goals and I made comment on his plus/minus stats. I'm not knocking the kid and I do hope he hits the 30 plus goal mark but the plus/minus stat is indicative of your overall team's performance to which all players have accountability for. The cats play a run and gun offence which Macdonald will thrive in but it will be short lived come playoff time when you run into a defensive minded shut down team. The Cats currently sit in 1st place with 20 point but have 57 goals for and 58 goals against. There are four teams chomping at your heals with 19 points. Let's see where you sit in a couple weeks time and how much the +/- stat changes for everybody on the team.

By wearing down, I just meant he can't steal every game. Cats have been bad defensively all year, it also helps their 5 of their first 11 games were vs SJ and PEI. Defense is by far the weakest part of the team. They don't really have one above average defensive D, Lecoultre and Welsh are average, but they are more offensive than defensive guys. Weiringa struggles against fast teams as Desjardins did. The others are rookies. Would not be surprised if they shopped for an OA D from the OHL or WHL.

He has turned the puck over a few times, but he comes back hard. I really liked Kuzmin-Tessier-MacDonald together, not sure why Rumble would break them up?

The Cats are closer to mid pack than the top of the standings, they had a soft schedule to start and now it's going back to the norm.
