IMO last night was a signal that Grametbauer will be traded. What game so far was more important than last night? And one just admits above that everybody knew Grametbauer was the better goaltender at the moment. If a Coach wants to remain on top of its main rival, he starts his best goaltender when facing off against that rival..... Well Waite started against Charlottetown (his first start in many weeks since being out injured), and gave up 2 fairly quick goals, but was solid the rest of the way shutting the door through OT ... but losing in a shootout in which only one player scored on him in 5 shooters. Then Grametbauer started vs CB and gave up 4 (plus an empty netter) ... and lost. So who should get the next start? The guy that played well two games before that just returned from injury that you are hoping to groom to be your #1 ... or the guy that just lost the last game that has started most of the games all year (20 of 25) ? If Moncton was trying to contend this year then maybe you want to gain every point you can in November, but they aren't. Our target year is likely next year or the year after. This year is more about growth, and starting Waite in front of a big crowd vs a big rival is good for growth and good for our target years. Are you angry that Halifax won facing our backup ?Just saying that the goaltending was weak. I was surprised to not see Grametbauer in goals, that's all. As for BMD,as an OA, he's got to be better than what he showed so far in the games I saw him play.

He is a veteran backup goaltender that is in Halifax to provide support to young Gravel, who hasn't played quite as well as he did last year. I think if Gravel was playing solid up until now then BMD would probably be cut loose at Xmas and the OA slot upgraded. That may still happen. But at this point it seems BMD has taken on the #1 role ... but pretty sure that was never the plan in Halifax.

Pickard will be playing Junior A next year. If Pickard wants to be a goalie in the CHL next year he will be, he’s absolutely good enough. If he’s playing Jr. A it’ll be because he made the decision and not because he wasn’t needed. Grametbauer and Pickard will be in this league.
