The story in the Times and Transcript sure makes it sound like we will be buyers. Hopefully they are smart enough not to take a step backwards in the rebuild.

Buyers only to get better next year ... but that can help this year as well. The article mentions the players that may be of interest to other teams and if all of them are gone we aren't better this year ... but it depends on what we get back immediately, and then at the draft.

Honestly the article doesn't say a whole lot that we didn't already assume. Looking to add an 18 or 19 year old that can help both years and wi be concentrating on the D.
I can't really think of any 19 year old D outside of Sylvestre that would be available and good enough to warrant having a 20 year old spot next year so that rumour makes sense. Are there any other 19 year old D that make sense?

Other than him you're probably looking at an 18 YO, or maybe Bilodeau from Gatineau would be a good 1 and 1/2 year guy.

wonder if Tessier would be an interesting trade chip to a team like Rimouski? Do a deal that would bring Dom Cormier back at the draft to play in front of his hometown fans.

I think you’d need to see a pretty solid return for that to happen... I’d rather have Tessier as an OA than Cormier, regardless of the fact the Wildcats need defence.

The best way to buy next year is to get assets teams will want in June...draft picks...plus also players at the draft. Trade Tessier and welsh for picks and players at the draft. Pataki and MacRae for picks.

He looks to me like a guy who would do really well in Junior A. Look at Campbell Pickard for example. That's no insult to him as Junior A is still high level hockey. Pataki on the other hand I could see him going for a 3rd or 4th rounder, one of the better PK guys in the league and has put up a few pts and has decent finish. Also plays physical. He'd be a nice upgrade for Halifax's 4th line they like to discuss every game thread.

Would Hunter Drew fit in Moncton really underated Dman Gms will be calling about Drew. Seems to be doing pretty good on the Isles blue line though....and has the strong potential to return as a 20 if he keeps improving as he has done all season......i hope Hulton keeps him. If he leaves they will just need to replace him.. .

They can always shop MacRae, if they tarde both Pataki and Tessier they may keep him for depth, or call up a younger player and send him to Jr.A. Pataki should definitely get interest.

Might be worth a shot , however not sure how he'd fair in a checking role. He's on the smaller side, Do we own his rights ?
