Veleno has 22 in 14 for Drummondville so far after a slow start (1 point in his first 4 games). He's up to a tie for 11th in scoring (with Zadina, McKenna, Batherson, and Morand).
If he keeps scoring anywhere near his recent pace, he could put up 80-90 on the season despite ONLY being 31 in 31 for us.

I fully expect him to be pushing 2 points per game with Drummondville by the time the season ends.

I don't know if Max-Antoine Melancon will turn into a good player in the Q but this looks like good value. On paper this looks like a 2017 4th for a 2019 2nd. The mindset because the price. A 4_2017 is equal to a 3_2018 and a 3_2018 is equal to a 2_2019 in progression.

So at this point the trade is:
Joe Veleno
for
Jeremie Poirier (1st Round, 8th overall) Brady Burns (2nd Round, 29th overall) 2019 1st round pick (1st round, 1st overall) 2019 2nd round pick (2nd round, 34th overall) 2020 1st round pick (Drum)
We traded our 2020 2nd round pick (Drum) for the 2019 Halifax 2nd rounder from the Titan. Not a good 'value' trade based on where they will pick, but fits better with this core. I personally would have waited until the draft to offer it if there was a player available I wanted to move it for.
Overall the Veleno trade is looking real good for us. Some of that is based on who we picked as well, so shoutout to the scouting department.
