It never hurts to add these guys but they aren't building a future with free agents coming from lower leagues. Very low probability either of these 2 make the team. For every Pataki or Seitz theres a dozen or so Colton McKenna's and others that get cut in the first 2 weeks of camp. Cats are already pretty deep at FW. Pataki and Seitz came from the OHL not Jr.B. I'm aware of that, perhaps my post didn't read that way. Just speaking of free agents in general. The point is these 2 are likely a non factor...but there's nothing to lose bringing them to camp. |

Yeah, no doubt. People just need to adjust their expectations. It doesn't hurt at all to bring them in. Maybe you strike gold with one of them but it's not likely. As long as the GM isn't out telling people they found the first round caliber players (Mooney,Auger) we can all manage our own expectations. |

feel pretty bad for MacDonald who had a stellar rookie season and some said at the time he may even be a top 15 pick in the draft that just passed then he goes undrafted all together....

He brought it on himself...he came here after run ins with management in Sherbrooke over his conditioning and didn't exactly prove the naysayers wrong this year, heard from a few NHL scouts that they had a lot of red flags on him on top of his play tailing off terribly at the end of the season. This deal and the Sylvestre deal will be the long term stench left by DShannong's reign... |
