Looking at the standings today we are in 13th overall, happily just outside of being a lottery pick since we don't own our own pick. So where do we finish ... will any of BC, VD, Chic, SJ or Shaw overtake us ? Will we overtake any of CB, Sher, Vic, Gat or Que ... overtake them all and we'd get 8th overall and home ice in Rd 1 ... highly doubtful. It is doubtful that we overtake Vic as they are 6-3-1-0 in their last 10 and starting to wake up perhaps. We are 3-3-2-2 in our last 10 and not going to overtake anybody if we don't at least go 0.500 the rest of the way.
Realistically I think our best finish would be 10th ... and face 7th in Rd 1 ... which could be Bat, Char and maybe Vic. Even finishing 11th could get us Bat or Char or Vic. But the lower we finish the tougher the first round opponent will be. Nobody we face will be easy ... we'll be the underdog in any series but have a chance at an upset if we play well the rest of the way.
I expect Bat to rise up the standings a little from 6th ... and Char will probably move up a spot or two ... RN could drop a spot or two. The Top 4 are all playing too well to fall very far and should stay in the Top 4 ... Rimouski has pretty much locked up the east ... Halifax should be unchallenged for our division (as long as they don't hit a skid) ... and BBA and Drum may switch back and forth but should stay in the Top 4.
On the other hand we could slide to 15th and get overtaken by BC and VD ... depends on how motivated we play the rest of the way.

If Khovanov was to become a legitimate offensive threat and Sylvestre plays 30 mins a game in the playoffs... we'd have to really tighten up defensively, but we've still got time improve our decision making skills before the playoffs.
I know the PP looked less than adequate this weekend, but it's the missed opps to clear pucks out of our own end that will ultimately wear us out.
I'd rather start the playoffs against a quebec based team that has much less experience playing against us even if they have a better record than a local rival.

Well looking at next couple of weeks, starting this Wednesday in Halifax doubt if we will win that one, Quebec on Friday night and it will be their first road game so will be geared up so it will be a tight game, Saturday tis CB again tight. Let’s say we take one game of those three, then it’s a road three day set against teams that are lower in points that us. If we take just one of those road games it just may set us up to slide to 15th place as the season progresses. Just saying.

They have been overachieving all year but don't have the high end skill that Victo or Bat has to take it up a notch. Cha is 0-2-1 in their last 3, maybe they messed with chemistry and it blew up... Based on logical outcomes, I expect the Cats from 63-68 points and 11th to 14th. I think barring a huge change in their play they won't be catching Victo Gatineau or Quebec.

Seven games left ... sitting in 14th with 58 pts but just one point behind BC and CB. Sherbrooke and Gatineau have surged ahead, and we have a pretty good lead on Chicoutimi ... so it looks like we will finish in 12th-14th.
That will get us probably Rimouski, Drummondville or Bathurst in Rd 1. I'd take Drummondville if I had to pick ... but we won't beat any of them in a 7 game series. There is a possibility of Bathurst catching Halifax which could put Halifax in that mix for us ... Bathurst has a game at hand and 6 pts back today. Bat and Hal play each other two more times ... and Halifax has what looks like a tougher schedule to finish out.

I would say we have more firepower than your typical bottom of the standings opponent ... and it is not out of the question that we can consistently score 4 + goals on anyone, even a top contender. However, we are a mess in our own end ... and giving up 5 + against a top contender each night is highly likely. In all likelihood, we lose in four ... but if we get hot, and maybe catch an opponent who has some question marks of their own on defense or in net, we might have enough offense to hang ... At this point, is anyone confident that our staff will be up to the challenge of outcoaching an opponent in a 7 game series? Often a key ingredient to an upset ...

Who the f—— knows with this team on any given night. It’s always two steps ahead followed by two steps back and at times it’s two steps back, then two steps ahead. Based on current standings probably difficult to get beyond round one.

Miromanov has been a much bigger asset, unfortunately he, Phelan and welsh will be gone next year...huge losses...

Before Sylvestre trade: Record – 14-16-3-2 3.77 goals against/game After Sylvestre trade… With Sylvestre in line-up: Record – 9-7-2-1 3.68 goals against/game Without Sylvestre line-up (I’m counting the game against Blainville where he was ejected early): Record – 2-5-0-0 6.14 goals against/game I would say they're better off with him in the line-up based on those numbers. He's a good defenceman and one of the very few on the team who is solid and doesn't make a bunch of a high risk plays. In reality there's not much one guy can do when the team as a whole is a train wreck defensively but he has helped.

Right now the best scenario for Titan is 2 vs 15 with 3 games left Wildcats vs Titan would be a great series as you guys always play us tough and attendance wise these could all be sellout type games ... man are building was rocking like the old days with 3524 fans plus the last game we played in Moncton you guys had 6671 fans

Moncton needs to draft an Impact defenseman at the Import draft and trade for a # 1 - 2 defenseman (Dobson or Joseph) for Moncton to have a chance at being a Contender. While I think Grametbauer (being overplayed) is a good goaltender, moncton will need to play waite more, or give someone else a chance to backup grametbauer. Moncton has a good group of forwards that should get better as they develop, but they will need to bring in a veteran with playoff experience and good on faceoffs (like Phelan)

I’ll say. I mean if we have such a good group of forwards how come we are sitting 15th overall and likely to remain there. This up and coming playoff situation is meaningless

Not sure the Euro draft is a sure-fire way to get an impact D. Seems more often than not euro D's are slower to have an impact than euro forwards. There's examples out there (Salda) where guys have had immediate success but more often they need a season to develop.
They might be better off upgrading the D through trade. Aquiring a goal scoring forward would leave them needing to add very little up front.
