Since Hodge put out his article on Sylvestre helping the GAA, the Cats have been giving up goals by the bushel...
9 games 43 goals against...close to 5 GAA.
To be fair, it's not all on the defense, Waite might be the worst goalie in the Q and Gametbauer has struggled with his workload, being pulled in 4 or 5 games in 2018.

Grametbauer is a very average goaltender. I hope they look elsewhere to backstop a Mem Cup Host team. |

Not sure if they will win a Memorial Cup with him...right now the team overall is nowhere near that level...but Grametbauer IMO is definitely above average but you can't play him 55 games a year, not having a competent back up is killing him, he's hard to come in relief for Waite numerous times on top of starting most games. He was very good in Charlottetown last year with a good team around him. |

He was good not great last year..... he never really took the reins until the playoffs and he was actually quite poor in the Blainville series

Grametbauer is inconsistent if anything. He allows too many weak goals to be considered a great goaltender. Overall he's fine and not the team's biggest problem moving forward. Would he be who you want between the pipes if the team is hosting the Memorial Cup? That I'm not sure of.
In terms of the goals against and defensive play the coaching staff has to take some blame at some point. At times with this team it's a non-stop barrage of high risk plays and that is up to the coaches to fix. They have not done so.

Why haven't we replaced Waite by now? It's now hurting us. It's clear he isn't up to this level.

Why haven't we replaced Waite by now? It's now hurting us. It's clear he isn't up to this level. They should have replaced him at midseason. Why keep a guy who won't be there next year when you have a couple 17 year olds who are likely better? |

The defense wasn't playing that great with him in the lineup either. He hasn't had anywhere near the impact that they predicted. |

I can just hear the excuses for this one.. in the Transcript. I feel the players have just given up and the coaching staff are totally out of touch.. we need new direction behind the bench as we have made the same mistakes continuously year after year. WERE GOING NO WHERE!!!!
