Lukas Cormier from Moncton might be the best D in the whole draft.
It wouldn't surprise me if Moncton targets one of the NCAA guys like Mark Hillier.

I wouldn't be surprised, however, I don't think he gets picked in the top 2, so the Sea Dogs may have to trade up with their other picks to get him, as their first pick will probably be a Quebec guy. Just guessing tho, I don't know their internal value on Cormier, he's a hell of a player, small tho.

Yeah top 2 would be a stretch for me but he is one heck of a player.. if I’m the Sea Dogs, I’d rather take the better players then reach on a guy that’s a couple spots lower just because he’s kind of local.

Moncton owns 6 picks in the first 4 rounds. Here's a look at where they'll be picking if the draft lottery stays as is. I will include who they could select with each pick as ranked by HockeyProspect.com. Also, I will include who I would pick because I'm an expert 18th overall (from Blainville)HockeyProspect.com: Xavier Bourgault - Levis Midget AAA My pick: Brady Burns - Valley Wildcats Midget AAA 20th overall (from Shawinigan)HockeyProspect.com: Brady Burns My pick: Elliot Desnoyers - St Hyacinthe Midget AAA 27th overall (from Sherbrooke)HockeyProspect.com: Zachary Roy - Chateauguay Midget AAA My pick: Josh Lawrence - Selects Academy U16 40th overall (from Chicoutimi)HockeyProspect.com: Tristan Gagne - Jonquiere Midget AAA My pick: Cole Cormier - Moncton Flyers 64th overall (from Charlottetown)HockeyProspect.com: Emile Girard - Corsaires Pointe-Levy Midget Espoir My pick: Mark Hiller - St Andrew's College 71st overall (from Bathurst)HockeyProspect.com: Olivier Adam - Magog Midget AAA My pick: Jordan Spence - Summerside Capitals

Aren't both Hillier and Spence leaning towards the NCAA? That's probably why. I agree with WhiteTy that Lawrence will be picked by the Cats. Not only does he seem like a pretty standard pick for the Cats with Shannon as the GM but I'm pretty sure Shannon knows the kid and probably assume he can convince him to come. I've Moncton is one of the teams that's going hard after him.

So can SJ for that matter and they also pick twice before we do and twice before Halifax.
