Bottom of the article says they are still looking to fill the position and that Thibeau would remain GM on an interim basis,

Why not just remove the interim tag at this point? Thibeau has been doing the job since they let Shannon go.

Because they are still searching for a GM. Thibeau doesn't want to be the GM..probably doesn't want phone calls from Irving on Christmas morning.

He's just doing it to help the organization out and will return to head scout once hes done. Unless he has a change a heart interim is exactly what it is.

Probably because they're trying to force someone into a slot where everything is already in place and they can't change (ex: coach, scouts etc.). Who wants their success tied to people they didn't choose

Any good hockey person that could be a GM is going to want to build the team his way, they are not going to want RKI telling them to trade top picks and prospects for mediocre vets in this lame idea of going for it every year. I spoke with a former Cats GM recently and that is exactly what happens in many places , but RKI thinks he can contend every year, instead he should look at how Saint John and Halifax built strong contenders, you have to have down times in order to have great teams later on.

Yup, the Cats make it look hard when you compare to what SJ and Halifax have done, plus Bathurst the last few years.

Maybe the fact that they're having such a hard time getting a GM will be a wake up call for Irving and how things have been run recently. One can only hope anyway.

Lets hope RKI does see it now, I mean he is a smart business man and would not continue to do things that don't work in his business ventures, so hopefully he sees the right way things need to be done for the Cats.
