The Sea Dogs still have a chance of making it to the playoffs this season. Although that probably means a match up with the mighty Huskies, it will be a big morale boost for the players. Not having our own 1st rd pick is at least a motivation not to tank.
The next two games against Bat will be very important for their final push.
The last 6 games are vs Bat (2x), vs Hal, @ Cap, @ Hal and @ Mon Sha last 6 games are vs Rou, vs Bac (2x), vs She, @ Chi and vs Vic, but Sha does have their own 1st rd pick, so has more reason to tank the last few games.

Not earning enough points to earn the right to be embarrassed by Rouyn would be quite all right in my books if I was a Sea Dog fan.
Your guys aren't coming back any more talented or any less motivated if they happen to end their season after game 68.

I am sure Management doesn’t want them to make the playoffs. The financial loss of going to RN for a two game road trip coupled with blowout losses and coming home to two week night game with 2000 or less fans in the building.

Doesn't cost THAT much to ship 30 people to Rouyn for a weekend.

Well so much for that idea. Not mathematically eliminated but these were 4 points they pretty much needed to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Yeah, safe to say that loss tonight pretty much seals it. Although given your success in your short existence, it's totally worth it.
I'd take Charlottetown sucking for a couple years if it meant winning it all. Small price to pay.

Both drafts should be interesting. That's a fair point. I didn't forget but was just making light of the fact that the 2 teams that will be missing the playoffs this year don't have their own picks, which are currently the 2 most valuable picks (draft lottery results pending). But yes at least we have a top 5 pick in that draft to look forward to.

Tie game late in CB. CB has a short bench tonight with some call-ups. Both teams hoping for at least a single point so I can't imagine either team will take many chances for the rest of regulation for as long as the score is tied.

Well the Sea Dogs had the lead until about half-way through the 3rd then give up the winning goal with about 2 minutes left, and CB added an EN. I thought the Sea Dogs might be in good shape going into the 3rd up by 1 and with fatigue possibly setting in on the short CB bench.

This loss probably lets the Sea Dogs avoid getting slaughtered 40-4 in 4 games in Round 1.

This loss probably lets the Sea Dogs avoid getting slaughtered 40-4 in 4 games in Round 1. Yup and probably gives them 6th pick in the import draft. They aren't completely out of it yet but this was likely their best chance to at least get a point. I'd be fine either way at this point. Wouldn't mind seeing a pair of games against one of the Memorial Cup favorites.
