Terrible night for the Cats. Went from being very much in the hunt for home ice with a 2-0 lead after 20 to now needing help to not finish 7th. Moncton can’t catch Charlottetown if the Isles get 1 point, can’t catch CB if they win out and can’t catch Chicoutimi if they win out in regulation/overtime. It's starting to look like a Halifax Moncton 1st round. Only chance for the Wc is Gravel shitting the bed. which can happen |

No matchups decided with 1 game left...
BC and Halifax are only 1 point apart. Halifax has the tiebreaker.
Rimouski is locked into 3rd
4-7 is wide open.
4-Char is 85(32)(at Hal)
5-CB has 84(34)(at Bat)
6-Chi has 83(35)(at Que)
7-Moncton has 83(34)(vs SJ)
Quebec is locked into 8th.
Unless Bathurst beats CB, the Cats have no chance at home ice(probably a good thing). If Charlottetown loses in regulation they could go from 4th to 7th(assuming the other 3 teams win) based on the tiebreaker(regulation + OT wins).

Cape Breton vs Moncton Chicoutimi VS Riki and Charlottetown Vs Baie Comeau is what I think . Halifax Wins in regulation today and BC lose to Riki. Let’s see how this prediction goes BC is strong and Rimouski has nothing to play for. I can't see them going all out just to knock BC into 2nd. Halifax Charlottetown could be a good game. SJ Moncton also, some desperation in both. Yup ... Saint John just slipped into a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Shaw plays Vic today but Vic have nothing to play for. SJ needs a win ... but really just have to match what Shaw does today. Not sure I'd want to make the playoffs to face RN. |

So far of the 4 teams battling for 4-7 the Eagles(86pts 35 ROW) and Cats(85pts 35 ROW).
Chicoutimi(83pts 35 ROW) and Char(85pts 32 ROW) are both tied right now in the 2nd period.
Only thing decided is the Cats can't get 4th, only 5-7 depending on those 2 games. BC and Hal still battling for 1-2 also.
Cha Hal is 2-2 after 2, Chicoutimi blew a 3-1 lead and now down 4-3 after 2. Cha needs to get to OT to beat the WC, Chicoutimi needs a win(I believe in regulation or OT, Cats have the tiebreaker if both are at 35 ROW).

Seventh place finish. Cats close the season behind Charlottetown and Chicoutimi who both looked to the future during the trade period.
So the Cats ended up exactly where they would have if they would have sold a bit at mid-season. Absolutely unbelievable.

Wow your division champs Halifax limped into playoffs needed them to win, Saint John takes them to shoot out and can’t deliver and beat PEI after we did last night. That home stretch feels like the draft lottery in 2017 and exactly how expectth draft to go in 2019, just no puck luck for the Moncton Wildcats..... |

Absolutely worst case scenario for the Cats! Irving deserves a 1st round beat down!!! Shoulda, coulda but didn't is how this franchise continues to roll.
I hope they pull off a miracle in the 1st round but the organization certainly doesn't deserve it IMO.
