Have to beat the best to win. I was impressed with your team last night. Laclerc will be motivated against his old team. If there an upset in round 1 this could be it.

Cats looked awesome in Charlottetown....peaking at the right time and playing their best hockey of the season.
But you have bad luck with the draw in the new playoff format. It sure looked like it would be us that ended up on the short end of the stick in terms of playoff matchups but we must have had a lucky St Patrick’s horseshoe shoved somewhere.

The playoff format was known at midseason, that's why you don't waste assets on depth players. Charlotteown and Chicoutimi sold and they sill passed the WC FFS.

It'll be a 2-3-2 series, both teams flying! I'll guess Game 1 @ BC Friday March 22 Game 2 @ BC Saturday March 23 Game 3 @ Mon Tues March 26 Game 4 @ Mon Wed March 27 Game 5 @ MON Fri March 29 Game 6 @ BC Mon April 1 Game 7 @ BC Tuesday April 2 Why wouldn't they do 2-2-1-1-1, Bc isn't that far...

It's far if the ferries aren't running - don't think they are this time of year so the Wildcats would have to go to Quebec City and up and around. I believe the league picks up the tab, starting this year, for flights if the distance is 750km+

Let's be clear - there is absolutely no "bad luck" in how things played out. The Cats are in the position they're in because of their own doing.
They knew what the playoff format was and even under the old format they STILL wouldn't have had home ice and would still have a tough match-up against Chicoutimi. They also threw away countless winnable games during the season. Aside from Bathurst the Cats are the only team who somehow managed to lose three games (in regulation no less) to Saint John. Win one of those and they're in 4th. Play .500 against Charlottetown and they're easily in 4th. There's nothing bad luck about any of those facts.
For whatever it's worth Baie-Comeau fans don't seem overly pleased with how their season finished and are not thrilled with this match-up either.

Moncton are playing way better and motivated under Torchetti, and have lots of talent. BC seem to be involved in a lot of close games and apparently aren't playing that well.. An upset here is certainly possible.

I personally didn't want to see a match up with a Quebec team. I was hoping for a divisional rival. As for this match up. The Drakkar might have their hands full. The cats are pretty good on the road plus they have been play well as of late. Another first round upset would great.

As a cats fan, I love the 2-3-2 format. If the tables were turned and we were the 2nd seed, I would not be pleased at all.

Only way it benefits anyone is to split and win 3 in a row as the underdog. And that rarely happens. I'd be curious to see how often it's resulted in a 5 game series win for the underdog.

Our team just doesn't play well enough in our own rink for the 2-3-2- to matter. True enough, but I don't think a second seed deserves a possible 3 game road trip against a 7th seed. If it's a sweep; mute point. If it's a 5 game series, I've spent a lot of road/travel money and missed a traditional game 5 home gate. But maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist. I'm still delayed in my reaction to goals in front of the moose light bar end because there's no goal lights and I'm at the other end.

They split the 5th game revenue as a part of a 2-3-2 ending in game 5.
