Striker Peter Reynolds has not changed his mind ... for now. Even though he will appear at the Saint John Sea Dogs Development Camp starting tomorrow, the New Brunswick striker still intends to play for the Chilliwack Chiefs in the BCHL next year to maintain his eligibility for the Colleges. US. At least that's what his agent Kent Hughes mentioned in the Journal Thursday after a photo of Reynolds in the Saint-Jean Sea Dogs uniform created a commotion on social media. The image, posted on the team's Twitter account and announcing that the young striker would be participating in the development camp, was followed by this quote from the player in question: "It's an honor to be drafted by the team. my city. " This photo has raised many eyebrows as Reynolds, third best hope according to the Recruitment Support Center (CSR) of the QMJHL, said he did not intend to report. It had finally ended in Saint John, at the beginning of the second round. "There is no change, Peter still intends to play Chilliwack next year," said his agent Kent Hughes in the Journal . For history, the fact that he comes to the development camp does not want to say anything technically. As per the rules, he can remain at the camp for up to 48 hours without losing his eligibility for the NCAA. Next season, at least That being said, Kent Hughes asserts that what Reynolds told the QMJHL teams before the draft was not bluffing. The family of the talented striker made the decision several years ago to follow the path of American colleges and the latter left the family home at the age of 12 to go play in the United States. Since the 2016-2017 season, he has been playing for the prestigious Shattuck St-Mary's program in Minnesota. "The family has made many sacrifices over the years. Every year, they will re-evaluate their options, but for the next season the plan remains that he plays Chilliwack. It would be much easier for the family to play near the house, but they want Peter to continue on this path, "added the agent. Surprised of the Remparts Kent Hughes knew very well that few teams would be willing to take a chance with his client in the last repechage. If the Sea Dogs were among the formations likely to choose him, the officer also expected that the Remparts try. "The teams were told that it is possible for Peter to change his mind next year, but there is also a risk that he will never come. It surprised me because I know that Patrick [Roy] is very confident in his means to convince players, "adds the one who also represents the interests of Alexander Teleguine, a property of the Remparts who should be present at the next camp. training of the team.

From Jack Williams dad on Twitter: "@sjseadogs We went last year as a NCAA recruit to feel it out so we knew what it was all about. Who doesn’t test drive more then one car? Nothing but respect for Saint Johns as they never pressured us or tried to get us to sign but did make a great offer. Have fun Peter it’s a great camp."

We must not have really wanted Williams on the team. If we did, we would have offered him a bunch of illegal shit and he'd be here, right? I mean a bunch of small market fans and ignorant Quebecers (yes Martin Lahaie I'm talking about you) couldn't possibly be wrong, could they?

Last year there was no space on the team anyway, this year is different, so offer him and all the other NCAA holdouts the moon $$$$

Personally I would never blame the kid, but yes it is frustrating for small markets and even Couturier expressed it in the media a few weeks ago. SJ got away with $20M tax payers money as the Provincial watchdog announced this week. Meanwhile a billionaire owner of the Dogs goes crying to City Hall and now, instead of paying rent and a % of concessions, will get a check tendered to him avery Fall just to stick in town after threatening to move to Manchester. Now it is still more frustrating when you see a stack pile of recalcitrants heading to SJ with late 2nd-3rd picks. Do you see the flavour of people you call names? He did say SJ made a "great offer"......please read between the lines.

Your owners have free rent from the municipality. Why? Threatening to no longer play hockey there. Whats the difference? Couturier proved last season he doesn't need the big market resources to win. You would be the first to agree with that logic and did last season after winning. Now he's complaining about it to media. Why? He turned his own free rent situation into winning using your logic now.

The difference is the City pocketing $20M of tax payers money and turning around and making a donation to a billionaire. So then you think McCain shouldn't have a team if he can't pay his own rent? The worst part of all this is that the team got a little over 100k for naming rights on HS since they undoubtedly are what make the rights have value as part of their lease.

The Irving family paid $500K to have their name on the building. Jean Daigle estate paid $1M to Edmunston to have his name on the building, not the other way around.

The worst part of all of this is the team trying to sell to government that they're a non-profitable entity. Things like naming rights should just be taken care of in any lease agreement the 2 sides have.

The difference is the City pocketing $20M of tax payers money and turning around and making a donation to a billionaire. So then you think McCain shouldn't have a team if he can't pay his own rent? The sad thing is they are still paying rent. This really is just a discount in the yearly lease amount. I don't know why they are handling it this way because it now makes it look like McCain pays nothing and the city actually pays him to use their rink. There must be a reason it is being handled this way, but it creates bad optics, or at least creates confusion. The reality is that the Sea Dogs still pay money to use Harbour Station. They just pay less than they paid before.

Since I'm apparently drunk on Sea Dogs special blue Koolaid, I need a little help understanding the logic of guys like Martin Lahaie and several Quebec reporters/bloggers and Proboards posters.
In 2009, the Sea Dogs draft Pierre Durepos and Jonathan Huberdeau - who stated that they were leaning towards a US education package. Both sign and are key contributors to 2 Presidents Cups and one Memorial Cup. Charlie Coyle leaves Boston to join the 2012 team and plays a huge role as well. Dirty Ba$tard$ those NCAA $ea Dog$.
2011 - draft Connor Brickley, Ryan Segala and Marc Beiga. None sign
2012 - Drew Michals and Wiley Sherman - nope
2013 - Jack Eichel (even after refusing Halifax) and Joey Daccord - Nada
2014 - Jack Massie, Monty Graham, Marshall Rafai and Lincoln Griffin - NO
2015 - Morgan Barron, Marc McLaughlin and Ben Miragaes - I don't think so, Bud
2016 - Shane Bowers (after saying no to Screaming Eagles), Simon Eisliger, Devan Newhook, Matt Gould, Matthew Steinberg and Derek Fournier. Say goodnight, Mr. Young
2017 - Lynden Breen (local player), Tim Noble, Luke Wilson, Justin Hryckowian, Patrick Moynihan and Robby Griffin. We have a winner - welcome to Saint John, young master Luke.
2018 - Josh Lawrence (Yes - after the draft), Charlie DesRoches (PEI boy, upset the Islanders didn't draft him, walks down to Sea Dogs table and signs a decommitment form - YES), Dawson Stairs (well, Josh is going, sounds like a good plan - YES), Kale McCallum (doubtful), Connor Bradford (nice city but New England is nicer), Jack Williams ("you guys are very good but it's hard to walk away from my favorite NCAA team"), Cade DeStafini (Isn't New Brunswick a city in New Jersey). Lahaie et al - "those dirty cheating ba$tard$ - paying hundreds of thousands to bring in these recalcitrant players. The QMJHL should launch a investigation".
2019 - VDO at 6 - Evan Nause, VIC at 7 - Guillaume Richard ($UMaine? But the Tigres are my hometown team - sure I'll put on the jersey and smile - "what a good boy!"), SHE at 9 - Cam Whynot ("but he's not there? Still good risk for a top D"), RIM at 14 - Zachary Bolduc ("sure it'll cost $26,000 to get him to waive his Prep school fees - but we need to draft the best available and he's worth the wait"), BAT at 16 - Cole Huckins ("I don't care if he has said he's going State side, he's from Fredericton and would be honoured to play in Bathurst for a recent Memorial Cup champ - great move, Sly"), CHI at 18 - Oscar Plandowski ("sure he's said he's going south but, hey, he could be a huge add for a cup run next season - you go, girl") ... The Sea Dogs at 21 select Peter Reynolds ... "OH MY GOD, those cheating ba$tard$ are at it again ... every F'n year they spend well over $100,000 trying to buy a championship ... Mr. Commissioner - where do we stand with the investigation and the new rules to stop those cheaters in Saint John???" ... At 22 GAT takes Charles-Alexis Legault, at 29 CHI takes Jacob Guevin, and at 41 SHA takes Tovar Tinling ("NCAA be damned, we need more players from Quebec staying closer to home") ... At 51, the Sea Dogs are proud to select from Selects Academy, Cameron MacDonald ... "There they go again - buying more high-end players - BA$TARD$!!!" ... At 59, CHA takes Ryan Greene - "Great risk for a first round talent ... way to go Islanders, good on ya". ... I'm Patrick Roy, I think I'll draft William Rousseau (80) Mikael Huchette (83), James Malatesta (116) and Eli Barnett (118). "Oh, St. Patrick, what would the QMJHL do without strong willed guys like you to blaze the trail to keep more kids in Quebec. You da man!!!"
I guess it truly is the Sea Dogs versus Everyone else in the Q.
Hahaha
