I think if you are going to keep Huntley you need to add another top 4 D to the mix rather than a depth addition. He's in a good spot at #5 but in a situation where being 20 works against him. If a top guy goes down you don't want Huntley playing top 3 minutes in the playoffs.
I agree that Campbell would be a good addition. He's having a good season on a mid pack team thats looking to rebuild.
I'm not convinced they go into January with both Desnoyers & L'Heureux in the top 6.

I think being realistic there's no way the Cats add 2-3 impact players plus a 3rd liner only using the bottom half assets. Chicoutimi if they go all in have 3 1st rounders to use and the Cats don't have one until 2021. I think you keep L'Heureux at all costs as there's really no player hes worth trading for and it'd be nice to see the Cats develop another NHL 1st rounder to build on the reputation. He's a key piece for the next cycle. One thing that should help limit the assets used though is getting back McKenna and Andersson. If that didn't happen 90% of this list was likely going to be needed. In addition if Lavallee continues to play well he should have great value at Christmas. I think you gotta go in expecting that you'll likely deal one of Spence or Pelletier as futures to get a 1st line FW or 1st pairing defenceman. Its important to keep 1 of them to move in a deal next season to recoup picks/prospects to build around L'Heureux. The 2 2nd rounders in 2020 are probably as good as gone too. There's a lot of flexibility here with who you can keep and things definitely look much better than they did in September I would try to add a top pairing 19 year old defenceman (Bouchard) , a top 9 forward (Campbell) and a bottom four defenceman like Horvath. Xavier Bouchard for a 1st 2021 , 2nd 2020 + 3rd + Hebert Campbell for 2nd 2020 + Pavan Horvath for 3rd + 5th I still believe a was a mistake not to acquire this players in the offseason while it was a buyers market, Look at Baker and Kreutzer for example and everyone knew going in we would have to add a defenceman this season, Rodrigue Lavallee Bouchard - Andersson Spence - Huntley DeJong - Horvath Stewart Pelletier - Cyr - McKenna L'Heuruex - Khovanov - Desnoyers Campbell - Hudson - Rumsey Foreman - Daoust - Stewart I think they will need a bit bigger impact guy up front, ideally a 20-25 goal 2nd liner. I’m not a fan of counting on L’heureux top 6, 16 year olds often hit a wall mid February with regular minutes. He will also get to the U17 on top of 2nd line minutes. You can bump him from 3rd to 2nd line at playoff time if that works better.

Lafreniere/Pelletier/Poulin/Bourque/L.Cormier/Fortier all had strong end of season performances in their 16 year old season. I don't disagree another top 6 FW should be added but don't think its because L'Heureux is going to hit a wall. If anything I see it as upgrading on Desnoyers.

Does Coxhead or Bibeau could be an option?

Does Coxhead or Bibeau could be an option? Bibeau would be a nice upgrade on Huntley, at the right price.

I'd say he still had legs.

I hope they can use some of these prospects in deals, rather trade them than all of our future picks. Likely some of both... If I was to put value on their trading chips: -L’heureux(now or as futures)(likely untouchable) -Pelletier as futures -Desnoyers(now) -Lavallee(now) -Spence as futures -2021 1st rounder(Mon) -Hebert(2003) -Parent(2002) -2020 2nd(Cha) -2020 2nd(Mon) -Langlois(2002) -Pavan(2003) -2020 3rd(Bat) -LeBlanc(2003) -Pilotte(2003) -Desrosiers(2003) -2021 2nd(Mon) or 2020 3rd(Mon) -Hudson as futures My guess is, if they go "all in" they likely use about half those assets. I think Spence is probably worth more than either Desnoyers or Lavallee at this point. He’s probably between the value of PO Joseph and Sylvestre when they were traded. I’m not sure Moncton would be willing to give up Desnoyers at Christmas, I think he’s probably a future. Also, if Moncton is trading Lavallee at Christmas, I can only assume they’d be getting a solid backup goalie back. I still don’t understand what their plan is with the 7th defence spot. You’d think they would have brought in a guy by now to fill it. I can’t see them waiting until Christmas to add another player back there.

Bibeau could be very interesting....he got the experience and he was a key player for the Huskies last year. He finish the Memorial Cup tournament on the all-star team.

I wouldn't want to put my championship hopes on a 16 year old being a key piece.

Getting 1 year of Spence(likely) to me is worth less than 3 maybe more years of Desnoyers and Lavallee. I think you trade those guys for an impact player if that's the price. Ideally you keep all your key assets but they likely need an impact d-man plus a top 6 forward, those won't be cheap.

The Saulniers were 17 when the Cats won the presidents cup in 2010 and were not key contributors yet. Alex had 18 pts in the regular season at 17 & 6 pts in 21 games in the playoffs, roughly the same pace. L'Heureux has 14 pts in 10 games at 16. Allain had 17 points as a 17 year old in 2010 and actually had a better performance in the playoffs with 9 points in 21 games. They never played as 16 year olds. The evidence just really isn't there to backup what you are saying. Maybe you are thinking of when Flynn used to overuse the Saulniers when they were veteran players but this has nothing to do what we are talking about.

Maybe my examples were not great, bottom line, you don’t want to tie your championship hopes to a 16 year old producing at playoff time. Plan to have him in an insulated 3rd line role, if he plays great then have him bump down somebody else. Teams that win usually have a lot of depth, guys on the 3rd line that would be top 6 on most teams and #5 d-men that would usually be top 4. Plus a back up that you can win a series with. At the end of the day, if you want to a realistic chance at going all the way(PC and MC), you need a stud on D that will cost two prime assets plus maybe a lesser one, you need at least a top 6 forward(might be an OA if you get a 19 year old D), plus also at least one top 9 forward and top 5 d-man. That’s 4 pieces…one will cost a lot, a 2nbd will still be fairly expensive and two others that might cost 2nd and 3rd round picks. Ideally you add a couple of FA’s for depth, at least bring guys in for a look. Aspirot would be a welcome sight, but at this point it’s a long shot you can’t count on.
