The unfortunate part from an asset management standpoint is, had they better managed the roster the last 2 years, they would probably have a pile of picks and prospects to trade for what they need. Trades like the GIguere, Huntley Phelan Bellamy and MacDonald deals either cost assets or moved out guys that could help this year. Bellamy would be a nice top 4 guy this year had they played him at 16 instead of Auger and Arsenault who had no long term Q future. They traded away 3 prime assets for MacDonald who had baggage and then traded him away because of that baggage for 10-20% of what they paid. Giguere Phelan Huntley were trading picks to add to a non contender. There are other examples…
At this point, if they are going “all in” they will likely have a weak team next year and a young team the year after, likely two down years to get back to .500+. I would rather see that than going half way this year and not adding any impact players.

I would rather see that than going half way this year and not adding any impact players. Moncton received a 2nd and 3rd with Phelan for Tessier and a 5th. Sylvestre deal was bad. They could had kept an extra 1st and 2nd who gave being Charles Beaudoin and Xavier Bourgeault. Having the right side of Moncton with Andersson, Spence and Biakabutuka would have been good.
